honestly, this guy makes me laugh. when he talks, it's like he's cutting a wrestling promo. just watched a bit of TUF 17 finally, and that guy knows how to talk. so much energy. i'm not big on MMA (getting there though) but i think it's safe to say that bones has his work cut out for him here. i hope jones loses just so nike can facepalm themselves.

Sonnen is just all that -- TALK. Jones doesn't have his hands full, Sonnen does.

Chael P Sonnen and the P stands for perfect goes in to UFC 159, 10PM in the east live on PPV and you better believe that the Peoples Champion that relinquished his Middleweight title belt to Anderson Silva in a display of class is going in to the octagon as the debatable GOAT and walking out the GOAT with out question.
Bring your front kick to knees, bring you open palms in peoples face so they're scared of loosing an eye to close the distant, it don't matter when Chael P puts you on your ass and drills a hole in your face for 25 minutes or until you give up Jon.
Cya April 27 Jon, try not trash another Bentley before we get there.
Jones is probably going to kill him...

Jones will destroy Chael in the first round, brutally imo. But oh lord I want Chael to win, because that would be the funniest thing to ever happen in the UFC, for him to talk his way into a title shot, and have Jones not even really taking him seriously, and him pulling off the upset. I'd love to see the Jones hype train derailed, I ing hate him

honestly, this guy makes me laugh. when he talks, it's like he's cutting a wrestling promo. Chael is a big old-school pro-wrestling fan... some of his promos have been quoting Superstar Billy Graham verbatim, lol. He may talk a lot - but he was also the only guy willing to face Jon Jones at short notice when Hendo had to pull out... none of the LHWs wanted the fight. I don't think he stands much chance against Bones, but hopefully he can put up a great fight. And if a certain Mr Diaz wants a fight at MW afterwards, then I'm sure Chael would be only too happy to oblige...

Eh I don't know. Its a toss up but I'd pick Diaz on submissions alone. Submissions are Chaels weakness.

If Chael could defend triangles like he talks crap, he'd already have his own championship by now. Like I've said, I'm warming up to Chael but he doesn't even stand a punchers chance in my opinion.

Eh I don't know. Its a toss up but I'd pick Diaz on submissions alone. Submissions are Chaels weakness. For one I think Chaels stand up is better than Diaz, in fact I think Diaz has incredibly over rated boxing and stand up. I'm pretty sure the fight would go: they meet in the center of the octagon. Diaz wouldn't have time to tool around as Chael would be up in his grill with his effective boxing, force him back against the cage controlling him in the clinch with ease. Take him down and then just have his way with him. Chaels issue is that he is very active and constantly working unlike some fighters on the ground, and he gets reckless and then ends up getting caught. But he has a good record meaning he isn't some scrub getting caught every fight he is in. He is bigger and definitely by far stronger than Diaz. I see him controlling him, wouldn't put it past him finishing it for that matter. Then he can "retire" again because had a wrestler "lay" on him.

You're ing nuts if you really think Chapel has better standup than Diaz. You made good other points, but that's just... No.

The internet has a boner for Diaz stand up skills, it looks like he has has zero kick boxing training and it shows. He got tooled by Condit, GSP, and against Daley and a few other fighters who aren't afraid of his trash talking and odd approach put him in danger. So it's not just the elite of the MMA scene doing it. It's incredibly over rated, and a solid level striker who fights to the beat of there own drum and not Diaz will most likely come out on top.
By no means is Chael Sonnen an elite boxer, but I don't see him getting rocked and getting in to ugly slug fests. Chaels technical and effective and uses his strikes to set up takedowns and clinch work. It's just a bad match up for Nick Diaz. And one more thing in regards to submission, for the most part Sonnen has been tapped out by some very effective MMA grapplers... Diaz hasn't really subbed anyone of Chaels level in my eyes, the best he has done is Gomi?. I'm not saying he doesn't lack the skills training under the gracies, but there is being good in the gym and then putting it to use in the cage.

"Tooled" by Condit... Okay. That was a close fight I'll admit, but Diaz was far from Tooled... But I'm not gonna argue. You have your thoughts, I have mine. You say people overrate Diaz, but look at you with Chael. He's not even a standup fighter, he relies on pressure & takedowns.

Tooled was the wrong word, but I'll put it this way, Diaz was fighting and doing everything Condit wanted to. First time through I thought Diaz got robbed but it's apparent that Condit took it. But yea agree to disagree.

I like the guy but he offers absolutely nothing that can bother Jones. Everything that is a strength of Sonnen's, Bones is better at and Bones is perfectly capable of exploiting Chael's weaknesses. He's like a worse version of Rashad in terms of match-ups for Jones and I also thought Rashad had little to no ways to trouble Jones. Jones will finish him in the second or third.

I say Sonnen has better MMA Wrestling, I just don't think he has the size to use it on Jon.
