So I'm just cleaning my room and I've noticed this for a long time now but I just didn'thave a chance to post this. But my series 1 Basics (which I have the whole set MOC) one 3 of of the 6 figures in the set, the heads have thid weird white thing on their faces. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it didn't have that when I first got them(before it was even released) it just happened by itself over time. It doesn't looks like dust or anything. Anyways here are some pics: Thanks for looking!

Ah ha, so early WWE figures had this going on too. On some Mattel figures from a few years back (DCUC Series 3 for me) there was like this thin white dusting film that develops on the plastic over time. It's a result of something in the mixing or casting process. It develops over time and wipes away clean, but will keep coming back. It doesn't damage the figure, but it does look weird. For MOC collectors it would be a huge problem though.

I can't figure out why, in about 35 years of buying action figures, I have only seen this happen with Mattel made figures. I haven't check in awhile but I know some of my JLUs and at least one of my DCUC GLs have it.

I will have to check my figures to see. Does it only happen in MOC figures?

Thanks for the help! Lol I wonder what would happen if I opened the up to see if I can fix it. But I won't. What would happen is easy. You'd be able to clean them, but then you wouldn't have them MOC anymore, LOL. And those look like series 1, so they would be big bucks to replace.

That happened with their DCUC series 3 figures as well. Sucks if they are moc, but if they are loose it'll wipe off. It has something to do with the plastic, it's just a thin white film that wipes right off.

I've noticed that mattels when fresh out the packet are very oiled? if thats the way to describe it... theres some sort of "moisturizer" on it, my guess it that in the earlier days the didnt grease up the head, or didnt grease the figure leading to the discolouration when the figure sweats in the box.
