"It's hard to pass. It's not as good as the old car."
What a dummy, I hope he gets suspended.
Yeah, alright.

Sarcasm and I'm sure it was directed at me. But if you're a professional athlete and you get fined FOR WHATEVER REASON and then go and say that you're not paying said fine, I'm sorry but that's just dumb and you deserve whatever additional punishment you get.

I'd rather someone stand up for themselves in a bull**** situation than be intimidated and sit down on what they believe in.

The penalty is dumb. Saying someone deserves it just because you dont like it is even more dumb. There's been A LOT worse things said in Nascar and a lot of physical things done that were worse. If Im Hamlin, I wouldnt pay it either.

^^ I agree with you two.
I don't even like Hamlin, but I'm totally on his side here. It's bullcrap that Nascar policed the man's damn opinion.

Yeah i honestly hate Hamlin met him in Vegas in the garage and couldn't sign one autograph, he was the only driver to not sign. Left a bad taste in my mouth but i am on his side in this one.

All Matt Kenseth wanted for his birthday was an engine that didn't blow up. AND THAT'S JUST WHAT HE GOT!

All Matt Kenseth wanted for his birthday was an engine that didn't blow up. AND THAT'S JUST WHAT HE GOT! He earned that win. Good race yesterday. Kasey got great runs in 1 & 2 and Matt's tires were just good enough to hold him off. Congrats on a birthday win for Kenseth.

Denny Hamlin was the subject of a few posts recently. I was watching this video package of incidents between Denny and Brad Keselowski over the years, I'd assume around 2007-2008 because Brad was in the#88 for JR Motorsports. Denny made, what he thought, was a funny little quip about how Brad would "find a ride and hang around for a couple years" and how he'd realize he's not that good. That's why Brad is the defending Sprint Cup Series Champion. All the while, what Denny's got to live with is not getting the job done under pressure in 2010. I know the video was before even that happened but I just thought it was funny to hear Denny say that Brad's not a good driver.

It's crazy how different Denny is nowadays compared to five years ago. I met him back in 2009 and he was as cordial as can be. Took pics and signed for everyone. I hear stories of him being a dick to fans all the time now. I'm on his side with this fine crap, but his attitude doesn't do him any favors.

Had Garage passes me and my dad and caught most drivers going into the meeting. Edwards, Truex,Martin, Gordon,Harvick,Kenseth, Stewart. Then i see Hamlin coming i hand him a little 8x10 thing and he just kept walking. Way to be a dick. From then on i could give a crapless about what he does on the track. Everyone that came thru signed i didnt see Johnson, JR and them but everyone else had mobs of people and had no problem signing.

Everyone is different regarding approachable times for autographs. I don't believe an approachable time is during days that feature on-track activities unless its at an autograph session hosted by the sponsors. There is a time and a place for autograph requests... in the garage on the day of an event is not the time nor the place, IMO.

I can definitely agree that there is a time and place to request a picture or autograph. Believe it or not, the two biggest pricks I've met were Kenny Wallace and Jamie McMurray. Both were organized autograph sessions too. Kenny was too busy chatting with Morgan Shepherd to even acknowledge anyone. They were sitting directly next to each other and shepherd had no problem greeting people and shaking their hand but Kenny wouldn't even look at people. McMurray did the same crap except he was talking to a bass pro employee. I don't expect a driver to do anything more than say hello but that's the LEAST they can do. There's no excuse for not even saying a quick hello.
On the flip side, Scott Speed, AJ Allmendinger, and Paul Menard are awesome dudes. They couldn't have been nicer.

With the exception of Geoff Bodine and Bill Elliott, Tony Stewart is the nicest driver Ive ever met. Which is one reason why Ive been a fan of his since he came into Nascar. Ive met him 4 times now and he'll happily carry on a brief conversation with you. He's not one of those "Thanks for being a fan, here" *hands autograph*.
