www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/08/vertigo-cancels-hellblazerThis is a sad day (or rather yesterday) indeed. Hellblazer is one of my all -time favorite comic series. While I seem to be the only one happy with the fact that he's getting a New 52 series, i'm still disappointed that this is the end of the 'real' John Constantine. Bollocks....

The DCnU strikes again. Having Constantine appearing in to different books under different brands and across two different universes was to much for the streamlined universe. That or the TPB sales were not enough anymore and Warner wants to attempt another movie and wanted the character pushed better. Hopefully this is not the start of the demise of Vertigo.

Such an idiotic decision.

Judging by fan reaction unless new readers flood to the new book, it will not last more than a year. The Vertigo Constantine fans have pretty much turned their backs on the DCnU version.
DC has been fielding questions as to what role Vertigo would play in the future of the publisher. DC's answers were just a list of upcoming titles. Seems they are slowly phasing any property that can be into the DCnU. Once Gaiman's last Sandman story is published next year you could see the Endless appearing in the Dark books leaving Fables as the last stronghold of the old Vertigo (Never thought I would call Fables old Vertigo) as the brand becomes DC's version of Icon. Vertigo could become the place for DC creators to self publish.
