This may not be national news, but in a way it should be. Here's the deal. A local h.s. football player posted something online about the coach and team. The coach found out and punished the player. Because the player didn't like how he was punished or that he was punished at all he then complained to his parents then told the school principle. The principle then suspended the coach, and after a month of unanswered questions the coach was fired... After reading the story...what do you think? www.kcci.com/news/central-iowa/School-board-votes-to-fire-2-coaches/-/9357080/16925666/-/ced94ez/-/index.html

Personally, I can't say without knowing the full situation. What was posted? What was the punishment?

That's pretty dumb honestly. My senior year myself and our QB got caught skipping class (lunch actually, we werent suppose to leave campus) and it got us 3 days in school suspension. As for football it also got us 100yds of up downs for every day we were in ISS. Our QB was already in trouble for something else and he was doing about 500yds of up-downs after practice anyway. I dont recall anyone puking but we ran our asses off after practice. I consider it punishment that fits the crime.

A bit to extreme for a punishment altogether. I can't say that I nessararily agree with the coach beginning fired however. The temporary suspend suited this situation better.

I think the coach getting fired was a little to much. I mean one of the guys stepped out of line and he got in trouble. It is the players fault for making the comment in the first place.
My senior year of high school i was talking to a friend of mine (who was not on the team) about how the overall team looked going into the first game of the season. I told him we looked good going into the season. I only wished i was played a little more. Our O-line coach overheard me and asked what i ment by that (I was a defensive tackle). I said that i thought i was overlooked by our defensive coach. That day in practice i had to do 100 updowns and tell the defensive coach that i was sorry for what i said.
