It's a really important piece of Rick's character progression, and Carl's too, so I think it's almost necessary. However, I'm not sure the limitations of how that could or would play out on TV. I have a theory but it's graphic no matter how you flip it.

I don't really find Lori that annoying. I honestly hate Carl much more.

REALLY enjoyed this one. I think a week off from the main group keeped things very fresh this week. Having an entire episode focused on the Governor was great to get to know him. That last scene was crazy!
2 questions:
-Was the girl laying in his bed the woman who was talking to Andrea on the street?
-Was the last head shown one of the soldiers?

Spoilers in white: Anybody else think Merle will be the one to chop Rick's hand off? On a side note, does the Governor remind anyone else of Liam Neeson? I really didn't think I would like this casting choice, but he sure has proved me wrong.

-Was the last head shown one of the soldiers? Spoilers: The head on the top was the pilot that they saved from the helicopter. They killed him after the ambush on his convoy. I'm sure the only reason he's keeping Andrea and Michonne around is to get some leads on the whereabouts of the main group.
I was really disappointed by the way they portrayed the governor, until the ambush. After that, he became the governor that I remember from the comics. I'm glad they added the touch of the display cases of heads. I wonder if they're going to also bring in his zombie daughter--though that may be too much for television.
Hopefully they will also include the gladiator-like games at Woodbury

I think we might see his zombie daughter though, it would definitely be a shock factor for the audience that hasn't read the comics. I just wonder if they are gonna do Michonne getting raped by the Governor and that brutal ass revenge that she gives him as well as sticking with Lilly being the one that kills him or changing it to Rick getting the kill.

When I saw "Milton", I instantly though of a young John Ritter.

Spoliers is white: I don't think Rick will get his hand choped off like in the comics. Too predictable. I have a feeling if Meryl will cut anyones hand off it will be T-Dogg's since he was the one who dropped the key.
So do you guys have any ideas on who will be messing w/ the main group at thr prison next week? Obviously its gonna be the person who watched Carol last week cut open the walker, but I'm not sure if its someone we know or a new charatcer. The governor doesn't know where they are yet and the two prisoners would be too predictable.

Really dug last night's episode. My favorite of the season thus far, for sure. I agree, it was nice to have an episode away from the main group and to introduce the governor and give him some time to develop quickly.

It's nice to finally get away from But in all seriousness, it was great that they took the time to develop the Governor storyline. Now on to next weeks!

I'd rather see Rick or Michonne kill the Governor. I fully expecting to see The Governor kill Lori, who I would guess will still be pregnant as opposed to them showing the birth of and then killing Judith. (and you definitely can't strap the group with a baby) I personally want to see them try and do the rape scenes and then Michonne ing The Govenor up. You can already see the hate and distrust and spite in Michonne now and nothing has even happened yet.I'm still not in love with the casting of The Governor. I really like that they slow built the episode, so that you don't really get the full range of his crazy just yet, but it feels like an actor following in the footsteps of a character he read in a script as opposed to a guy becoming fully engrossed in a character. I'm sure most people don't feel that way, and there is plenty of time to change my mind, but right now I feel like Morrissey is going through the motions. Again, probably not the popular opinion, and I really had very little expectation for the role because I didn't know anything about Morrissey, but so far I think he is just solid, nothing more, nothing less. I think the writing of the character will make us hate and despise him, not so much the acting. Just my take. I also think it's kind of comedic that they keep making Andrea look like an idiot. She is obviously going to buy into The Governor's bullish*t and she seems to go against all common sense all the time, albeit in a world where what you know is no longer what you know. Like her situation with Shane, that really meant nothing, she just comes off looking like a dumb hooker. In the comics, her relationship with Dale was meaningful, and even her current relationship is one of almost mutual respect for the experience the two have gone through to this point. I just think she is a way better character in the comics and wish they would push her into that direction at some point because I think Holden is great.

Amazing, Amazing, episode. This season is really looking to be the best yet! I can't wait for next week, and I'm hoping the person who watched Carol last week, is who I think it is!
Anyone read the 2 books out for walking dead? 1- " Rise of the Governor" and 2- " Road to Woodbury"?

It adds so much depth to the character. Especially how you think you know how it is going to turn out, but then... You know. Really good stuff and just a good book in general. Have to read Road to Woodbury though. Didn't even know it was out yet.

I don't have a freaking clue what happened to my browser, but it just highlighted the whited part & that's something I didn't know, but holy hell! But yes, he does remind me of him, he's just missing the accent.

Awesome episode. The Governor is a psycho prick but a lot of shows need a crazy villain so it will make the show better. And I didn't even notice that one of the heads was the pilot until The Talking Dead's Dead Montage thing. I guess he would have to kill that dude he killed all of his friends. I guess I can see why he would be intimidated by them since they could take over but damn kill zombies not people; especially ones who didn't seem to be evil [like the Governor..].
