Judging by the previews he'll get his chance, leading the herd away from the group. Looks like we will see a half-dream, half-reality episode to send him out. He'll hold out long enough to meet up with the rest in the end I feel. That rickety a** bridge they've wasted this entire season building will come in awfully handy... Personally, I want to see Rick turn and LEAD the zombie horde as it attacks our heroes. I kinda see the appeal in that. Getting revenge on all them Judas mothers Daryl and Maggie and that little psycho twerp from Oceanside whose actions led to this.

Honestly I am not sure if I will keep watching after next week. To me, Rick WAS the Walking Dead. Without him on the show.... I just don't think I will enjoy it.
I heard rumours of Jon Bernthal coming back to the show, and it appears he will be in next weeks episode from the clips they showed at the end of the episode showing what's happening next week. So that's kind of neat at least!

Wonder how many other people will pop up (Laurie, Carl, etc.) When last they sorta did this was with Tyreese in Season 5, and the total absence of his gf Karen from the prison sorta soured the moment. Yeah the Jadis storyline with the chopper is what most interests me going forward, at least what has been introduced in the show so far. Real skeptical that Daryl or Michonne will be worthwhile leads to step into Rick's shoes.

Was kinda hoping they'd find a way to write Rick off alive (*cough* helicopter *cough*), keeping the chance to see him pop up in the future (i.e. final season), but I guess this is it. Sad to see.
I haven't hated this season so far, definitely a step up from the last couple, but no Rick is a gut punch. Not sure if I'll keep watching after this season.

I don't mind them killing Rick, but if they're doing the exact same thing they did with Carl: IE a montage episode, I can't say I'm a huge fan. But he's gonna go down a hero, leading two massive hordes away, probably getting bit while collapsing the bridge.
I'm curious the reaction Negan is gonna have when Michonne or Maggie tell him.

I'm disappointed that according to my cable guide this week's episode will be standard length with what has been the typical run over. Seems like the sendoff of who many consider to be the main star of the show could have at least gotten an extra 20-30 minutes to delve thru everything.
Anyway, I felt it would be fitting to encourage everyone to share their favorite moments or versions of Rick Grimes.
Have to say I'm still partial to early Rick from seasons 1 and 2. To have a man of the law thrust into a leadership role right after awakening from a coma, to try to hold close the ways of the world before while adjusting to the unthinkable reality he found himself in, to keep his family safe as best he can while attempting to keep his group of survivors united was an enjoyment to watch. I'll never get over the moment Rick reunites with his family at the first camp.
Season 5 was a highlight as well. Leading the group from Terminus in the premiere was heroic Rick at his best for me, though it did take a Carol Ex Machina to do so. I am also fascinated in his character once they reach Alexandria, how he seems to embody elements of past antagonists the group had encountered. From macking on another man's wife a là Shane, to the "kill or die" mentality and obsession to protect the community from every outside presence a là the Governor, to putting on a facade to hide his true motives a là the Termites. Even the foreshadowing of Negan upon first arriving at Alexandria's gates with the line, "It's a good thing we're here."
And this got a lot of hate at the time but I enjoyed subservient Rick from the first half of Season 7. After the cocky attitude he held during 6 while attempting to handle the Saviors, it was a necessary teardown in order to set up Negan as a real threat and begin the rebuilding process to stage All Out War, which didn't live up to its promise in my eyes. We had all seen Rick push the group to do violent actions in order to survive, so it was a drastic change to see him urge his people to not take action in an attempt to keep everyone alive.

I've read a couple reviews of tomorrow's episode. How the hell do I post spoilers on here?!

I can’t belive this is it for Rick. This is no doubt my favorite TV show of all time. I feel in love with Rick Grimes from episode one. I always hoped Rick would live on and be the sole survivor.

Well I hope people stuck around for the first five minutes of Talking Dead. AMC trolled us all really f'n hard. I mean they never actually said Rick would die but we kinda assumed that and fell for it, now didn't we? Come to find out that Rick Grimes (and Jadis too I guess) left the show to be in feature length made for TV Walking Dead AMC movies set in some new environment telling a whole new story.

I liked the episode, but that's kind of a dick move.
I guess to the characters on the show, he is "dead", since they don't know what happened to him afterwards, and unless they need to bring him in as a special guest star to bump ratings, he's technically done on the show...but still...seems like a cop out.
Random thoughts: -It was cool to see Bernthal again. -Seeing Scott Wilson made me tear up a bit. -The Negan scene was heart-wrenching (JDM can really turn it on when he has to). -I like that they time jumped into a teenage badass Judith. -Kinda surprised they didn't have Lori and Carl show up to guide Rick on to the family. -Digging that Dan Fogler is on the show now too. I've been a fan of his since Fanboys.

And she is Shane's kid so maybe she inherits some of his bad-assery as well as the Grimes legacy. Also, the scene with Negan was taken straight from the comics, but slightly out of time sequence. It's a turning point for a character who now more than ever should have a prominent role in the coming Whisperers story. I mean, as sordid as his past is, without Rick around Negan is the most charismatic leader left and a lot can be done with him.

I'm confused, how exactly do zombies evolve?

I mean, as sordid as his past is, without Rick around Negan is the most charismatic leader left and a lot can be done with him. They sort of did the same thing with AJ in the Telltale TWD video game. Since he's grown up entirely in a post-apocalyptic world, he doesn't have the (depending on your POV) either the luxury or the handicap of remembering when you didn't have to fight to survive. It can both free one to do what's necessary, while simultaneously make it look like a case of questionable ethics and morals. It's a good storyline to use going forward with Judith. The scene could have come across corny if done wrong, but JDM is a pretty good actor.

I'm glad they didn't kill Rick, killing him would have ruined the show me and not made me watch anymore. You can't kill the main character who started it all man!

Yeah, I'm glad Rick isn't dead. But, uh, called it? I really figured they were just going to kill him, but I'd rather have more Rick Grimes to look forward to. Daryl breaking down got to me, man. Also, loved the scene with Shane. The Negan scene was astounding.
Very intrigued with what's going to happen with this time jump. Guess Judith will be the new Carl.

So Rick lives, but everyone from TWD will always belive he’s dead? That sucks..

As soon as the bloke, Jadis/Anne was talking to, mentioned he wanted an 'A', it was pretty obvious that Rick would be leaving on that chopper, alive. The time jump is supposed to be 6 years - which would make Judith about 10. Also, this has to be JDM's show, now.

That scene with Hershel man has got to be the most emotional scene I’ve seen in a while. Rick’s line “I’m so sorry for what happened to you.” made me cry. Just an eerie coincidence that, that line was filmed some time before Scott’s death and aired sometime after.

Really enjoyed Rick's sendoff, much more than I enjoyed any of Season 8. Loved how the episode validated the stances Rick had taken with insisting Negan remain alive and the group undertaking the bridge project. With all the backbiting others had done thru the season it was nice to see Rick proven to be on the right track. Brought it up before, too much similarity to Tyreese's death and a total lack of Laurie and Carl really bug me though.
Don't feel that slighted at Jadis Ex Machina saving him and sending him off to live in a whole other world, I'd be lying to say I wasn't psyched about the new stories to be produced. Though it is super depressing to think all of Rick's loved ones and closest allies believe he is really gone and that he (likely) won't see them again.
My favorite scene was also Maggie finally confronting her husband's murderer but only finding a long-broken man that in no way could satisfy her lust for vengeance. It was said to be brought on earlier in the story but I guess they need the fire JDM brings from here on out. Uncle Negan coming sooner rather than later.
I was skeptical at how they could hold my interest in the show from now on but the time jump helps things. Glad we don't have to wait three months to see the next stage in TWD kick off.

As much as I liked Rick, last nights episode was a breath of fresh air not having to listen to his speeches about coming together. And when Carol set the saviors on fire that was awesome.
