Was there ever a battle royal type set? I could've sworn I got a ring and a bunch of the figures all in one box, but I was so young when those came out I can't really remember.

[glow=red,2,300]I believe it came with Martel, Von Rashke, The Road Warriors and the Fabulous Ones, I had that set, the ring and the belts. Awa figures were the greatest figures, until Jakks and Toy Biz came around.[/glow]

^ Well, it appears to me that there was a variant to this ultra-rare A.W.A. Battle Royal box set because you've pictured that one above which appears to include the rare "Nasty Ned" A.W.A. Referee figure as well as Animal, Hawk, Baron Von Raschke, Rick Martel, Stan Lane and Steve Keirn, but this one that I've got pictured here appears to include A.W.A. Referee Dick Woehrle, along with Rick Martel, Stan Lane, Steve Keirn, Baron Von Raschke, Ric Flair and Larry Zbyszko. A.W.A. Variant Battle Royal Box Set Front: A.W.A. Variant Battle Royal Box Set Back: Just so you know, I do not own this rare piece, although I wish I did because it looks pretty damn sweet. Credit for these rare pics goes to an eBay seller who was selling it off a few years back and I just saved the pics.

The Road Warriors version was actually the original one to come out.

I am not 100% on this info, but as far as I know.... the first Battle Royal set came with Curly Brown, the second with Nesty Ned (both were generic referee, later named by collectors). For these figures two heads were re-used from the Warlord of the Lost World figures.
The third ring came with Woerhle.

Thanks for the info! I believe I had the set w/ Flair Larry Zybisco instead of LOD.

I got the second battle royal set at a Lionel Play world around the same time as the debut of the wwf hasbro line. My all time favorite thing about remco was the real attires... finally almost 20 years later wrestling figures are coming with more cloth attire. God bless Remco for setting a standard that took 20 years to live up to.
