Hey all I just pondered a theory. Has anyone every thought that the reason for us never getting a Demolishion Smash figure could be that they started to make the original Smash and he was changed and left the company making Ax that much further along in production and the contract was ended before he was finished?(WOW that's a long question.) I don't know how it fits with the time line of LJN but just thought it might be an idea and would see what you all think... Though it wouldnt explain the lack of barbarian... Oy I'm thinking to hard about this. Freaking OCD.

They werent made because LJN went out of business and lost the license. They were scheduled for the following set if that hadnt happened.

I understand that but my question is: Why were they split between two sets? I am seriously bothered when things are not finished so I have tried to find reasoning for quite some time. LOL I'm pathetic

demolition started in 86' ..the original smash was randy culley?(i think thats his name..one of the former moondogs) he was with demolition for only like 3 or 4 matches and the 2nd smash took over(barry darsow)..that was in 86' and the ax ljn didnt come out til 88 i believe.it is strange how the tag team sets were gonna be broke up towards the end of the line..

interesting question, I never put to much thought into it, I don't know why they didn't release another tag team series with demo, pop and who ever else was teaming at that time frame, I guess ljn thought it would keep the buyers attention to the next series if they split the teams up into 2 different series but unfortunatly they lost the wwf license before the last series made it into production, can someone please refresh my memory on who was suppose to be in the last series ( I remember barbarian, smash, brother love, official ljn sgt slaughter, new mold rick rude and virgil) I can't remember the rest.

Haku clearly wears the Islanders gear and not the purple King Haku gear of his prototype figures. It has also always bothered me that The Warlord is a bit of a mix and match..... he wears the POP make-up, yet is wearing the trunks that he wore as singles wrestler instead of the proper black tights.

Back in the day I, like alot of others ordered my figures from a company called "The Wrestling Ring" because I ordered alot of merchandice they would send catalogs and mailers from time to time. I rememebr recieving the mailer about the next new series of LJN, which would turn out to be the black series...I quickly ordered all the figures, including bad News Brown, Barbarian and Smash...I also ordered the Hart Foundation and Strike Force tag team sets. Apparently they were out of stock of the tag sets....so when they were not going to be able to fill my order (both tag team and cancelled black card figs) they sent the standard form letter....stating the black cards were cancelled and the tag teams were out of stock. Due to being a regular customer I was able to call up and get some additional info....how true it was....no clue...but it went as follows....the black card series was solicited to merchandicers as one singular series....but was actually scheduled to come out in two waves. Not anticipating the end of the line the team of Demolition and Powers of Pain were split up...to be completed in the 2nd wave. But, due to declining sales and many stores downsizing their toy departments and Titan sports desire to move to a more "action" oriented 3 3/4" line.....wave 2 never saw light. It was further explained that Brother Love, Bushwakers a new Brutus etc....never were confirmed for the set, but were the most likley choice and their pics were used as place fillers. I too was curious about the deco changes of both Warlord (originally pictured in long tights) and Haku (king attire)....the Haku is easier to explain as he had recently lost his "kingship" and was a easy repaint....warlord.....I would imagine was sculpted and it was easier to make him a hybrid than to release him totally outdated....in all honesty the only major difference was the hair. Truth be told...the entire last series seemed to have major deco changes..,such as Rude originally scheduled to be green and Red Warrior...I honestly think LJN saw the writing on the wall and got out the product while they could, as quick as they could....and the quality was scetchy at best!!! Event eh rubber material used for the warrioe is not the standard...if you notice most warriors are very pink and have a tendency to bubble. Anyways, sorry for the long winded reply....but I figured I'd add some fuel to the fire in regards tot he rumors from my youth!!!
