Firstly I'd just like to say that while I would like feedback on my idea this thread is open for any ideas or suggestions or discussion on improving the board that you may have.

Point system
Now though I haven't been too active on the boards in months myself, am far less enthusiastic about making pivot animations as I used to be and have pretty much grown out of pivot animating I still think its a real shame to see that not only this board but all the alternatives too have all been bordering being dead for years now (with spikes of activity here and there.) When I was younger I had a lot of fun making animations, being a part of the lively animation community. I think that this is something that the current new users and even people who have been here for awhile ar
en't really getting to experience and are missing out on. It also seems to be a problem that not many users who try pivot really get to be very good because who wants to be posting animations on a dead forum and get no replies or help? The same goes for the better animators who don't post because they will get very few replies. So it just end up being a revolving door of new people who seem to leave or quit as soon as they get here. So anyway I thought I'd make this thread to try and compile some ideas and maybe if we're lucky put them into effect and try to get this board going again.
The odd part I find is that though the boards are inactive the current PPV has 12 people signed up, now this isn't a lot by any means but more then enough to sustain a decent level of activity on the board, however this is not the case as people kind of just seem to sign up for a match disappear for a month with an odd post here and there, make their animation and come back in time for the voting. So basically there's interest in winning titles and taking part in events but not being an active part of the community So I think that we should make a connection between being active on the board and the PPV events
My idea is to have kind of a point system to decide who gets the title matches based on their rank, this system would reset after every show and then maybe have an overall as alternative motivation to participate on the board more. Now to give an idea on what kind of things would get you points here's an example using user 'a'.
So between the last PPV and the next user a has;
Posted 3 animation threads; 5 points each
Replied to 9 animations; 3 points each
Posted an animation style (for others to use); 5 points each
Posted 3 sprites / sticks (weapon, stick figure, ring, ect)for others to use) 3 points each
Won a SFBL match (non-ppv) 15 points
lost ppv match(see * below) 48 points
*non title ppv win points would carry over
*I don't really think we should be making non title ppv matches seem worthless hence the high amount of points given.
user a would end up with 119 points (didn't double check, math may be wrong) in comparison with other users a ended up 2nd in the point system;
user b; 142 points
user a; 119 points
user c; 89 points
user d; 72 points
Seeing as this system is about encouraging people on the board to be more active and not really about who posts the most and shouldn't be too much of a competition I don't really want one person dominating because they post a lot and to be given the title shot every time, I'm not really sure how to go about fixing this a problem besides maybe making 3-4 way matches a more regular thing or not letting someone have title matches twice in a row, another way of fixing this would be to put a somewhat low limit on the points you can get, say 100, and let everyone who hits that limit have a title shot. I'm not really sure on how this would work so some input here would be great.
Another thing that probably wont be too big an issue early on with a small group but might arise later would be keeping track of all this, I think that an honor system might work with checks on anyone suspected of cheating, or maybe having 1 or 2 people helping me keep count. Not really sure how this would be handled so suggestions are welcome, as said before though with the small group of users we have currently I can keep track myself quite easily. Kind of on the same page would be separating what is a good contribution to what is someone just trying to get cheap points and essentially cheat, like for example if someone makes a terrible animation style or stick that no one uses and in turn isn't contributing anything useful it shouldn't count, the same thing goes if someone gives an animation a half assed one line reply then it shouldn't count because it isn't helpful. Now again I think we should be able to use the honor system and hopefully not have to deal with a lot of cheating however I do think it's important to define what is and isn't cheating.
Another thing that I could some input on is how to deal with title rematches, people who are deserving of title shots but don't have the points needed and so on, I don't think this system should be too restrictive and we should allow such things however there's still the question of how much should be allowed.
I also should stress that this is just a really rough outline and if you guys like the idea the final versions points would be a lot more balanced with each other and the rules would be more thought out. Any input anybody has would be greatly appreciated. Also if this is implemented it would start small with just trialing it with the lower divisions / belts to see how well or if at all it works.

Titles
Another idea I have, seeing as the board is rather small at the moment and there seem to be as many titles as people making them rather worthless and with people not turning in animations and vacating the titles on a regular basis there seems to be an issue with keeping all the titles filled, so I think that we should cut it down to a main title (world) and 1 secondary (gsc or uv) then if we can build this place back up we can add more titles.
This also ties in with the point system so we can split up the people on the board into more defined divisions.

Lastly though again while I'd like feedback on my idea this thread isn't just for my suggestions and is open for discussion and any ideas that anybody else might have.
