When I first heard about Mattel taking over, I DREADED Jan 1, 2010. Now, I cant wait!
Mattel's details are still blurry, but I see a lot of potential. While it's not official right now, Im starting to warm up to this!
Anyone else feel the same way?

You're looking forward to Mattel??!!? Seriously, Ever since i heard i was looking forward to it. Even if they suck, its still better than the same old crap from Jakks. I was getting tired of every figure being the same from the neck down.

No! I think they did a chat to early. They really have no specifics on the product. It was rather disappointing to me. Just the yeah we can to that and we have a lot of ideas we THINK you guys will like. On the other hand if they keep in touch with us collectors like they say there going to do this could turn out good.

It didn't change my opinion. My opinion is the same - I'm not collecting them.

I like everything they have said except for the figs themself. I don't like DA's so I probably won't like these

I'm not gonna collect once Mattel takes over anyway but they really sound exactly the same as Jakks. It's gonna be the same exact stuff just in a different figure form. Mattel, just like Jakks is still gonna cut costs. Maybe not right away but they will cut costs just as well. I can't afford to start over again so if Mattel makes crappy figures, great! If Mattel makes good figures, great! I won't be collecting either way.

I was never negative about Mattel. Judging prematurely is judging immaturely, thats what I say.

Mattel wowed me with their DCU line this year, so I'm on board with whatever they plan on tossing my way. I don't know if I'll collect them outside of a few of my favs, but I definitely think they're one of the better companies to get the license. Way better than if Hasbro was announced!

I'm excited for them taking over. As for the RA body molds, I'm sorry, RA looks really old when you at other figure lines in stores right now. I just love how everyone is shooting Mattel down without even seeing the first proto's yet. Wait until the first proto's, then decide to keep going or not.

I love how like at least 90% of the people here were all against Jakks, until Mattel got the WWE license

I dunno. I will have to see one first. I am sure I will be buying them up weither I collect or not (I have a son who will be 4-5 at that time.) And he already likes playing with wrestlers. Here is his discription
HHH: H Umaga: Ubaga John Cena: John Cena Jeff Hardy: Curtis ( I have no idea why? We don't even know a curtis.) Sabu: SSSAAAABBBBUUUUUUUUU (says it drawn out.) Shawn Michaels: Michaels
That's all he really says.

I think in the Mattel chat they made all the right noises and told us what we wanted to hear. I will decide when I see first prototypes/figures.

Me too. I am now excited to see what happens. Mattel provided us with some good things we needed to know.

Truth be told a lot of people collecting now, won't be collecting in 2 years. Not necessarily because of the brand switching. But people change, interests change, and families change. I plan to have at least one kid by then. Who knows if I will have the money to collect like I do now. People threatening to leave because of loyalty to Jakks is just silly to me. Jakks has no loyalty to you just your wallet. So here if you like the figures, please buy them, enjoy them. If you don't, it's your perogative to turn your back on them. Something tells me if you love the WWE still you will find something about their figures that you appreciate.
