yup it sure was forever......but I remember being stoked for him to turn on Dibiase.unfortunately when the Dibiase feud was done....so was Virgil.

They should of had him come into some sort of riches...Like win King of the Ring or something....then go broke and have to come back to DiBiase. Virgil is to Dibiase as Jelly is to peanut butter.

Virgil's single run was over as quick as it started. It had lots of potential when he was being trained by Piper, but it really wasn't a great idea in the grand scheme of things. Virgil & Dibiase were perfect together. And neither man's career were quite the same without each other.

There is a misconception about Virgil's wrestling career. The misconception being that he was a failure, which far from the truth.

Virgil was was over big time as DiBiase's bodyguard as a heel, then as a sympathetic figure, he then went on to draw decent money as a midcarder and maintained his popularity throught his run with the company.

DiBiase had his role reduced when Vincent realized he was not going to be able to draw on his own in A shows, the split from DiBiase was a real blessing for Virgil.

He's the only wrestler I can think of where his ring name in two different companies were ribs.

Virgil as a rib to Dusty Rhodes.
Vincent as a rib to Vince McMahon.

Thus, his career was one big rib.

Yeah, I never actually saw him wrestle under the name, because I think he was pretty much on Saturday Night, when he used that name.

Yeah, when he beat DiBiase for the Million Dollar title. That was pretty much the peak of his career right there. The way Piper was cheerleading for him too, helped make is seem like a big deal.
