However DDP vs. Goldberg was a gem of a match. But the feed for the event was killed shortly into the match and was aired for free the next night. It seems from then on WCW started to fall. I disagree. I put the start of the fall with the bad ending of Starrcade 97. Amazing build up and then a crappy finish. Sting should have gone over Hogan clean and turned his back on WCW and the nWo. Imagine the build to a Sting/Goldberg PPV in mid to late 1998, after which Hogan could return and Sting could go back to normal. I agree 100% with this. Starrcade 97 just represented everything that was screwed up with WCW. The build was good, but soooooo long and drawn out. I liked it at first, but they basically had their top face (Sting) not wrestle for an entire year. Then, he doesn't win cleanly. Sting shouldve broken up the NWO that night, forcing WCW to go in a new direction and not keep the same tired crap on the air every week.
