I've always enjoyed watching indie guys get shots in WWE. I don't mean like the shot that Ricky Reyes got on SmackDown, but when they would actually let the guys get offense in.
What are some of your favorite try-out matches? One of my personal favorites is Jamie Noble vs. Daniel Bryan from Velocity. I recently discovered Kanyon vs. Shark Boy from Velocity and I never knew that match existed.

There are a lot of cool ones out there like Cena vs. Bryan and Punk vs. Val Venis. Probably a lot of rare ones I don't even know about. They are quite fun to watch when you see how that person is today and how far they come.

There's a good match between Samoa Joe and Essa Rios from WWF Jakked or Metal or whatever floating around on YouTube. There's also a great match between Jimmy Jacobs and Eddie Guerrero, and Jimmy actually wins it, albeit by disqualification.

I dont know if you'd call it a try out match, but this is an 18 year old Jeff Hardy fighting Razor Ramon 2 years before the Hardys signed a contract with the WWF. Hardy actually wins

In the mid 90's I saw Chris Benoit get a try out against Owen Hart at a WWE house show. It was really good back and forth match with Owen eventually winning. Me and my friend were to only two in the arena cheering for Benoit, since we were fans of his from his first brief wCw run.
About a month or so later he showed back up on wCw, getting out of a limo. So I assume WWE passed.

Hardy actually wins I thought Jeff was 16 in that match? I remember reading somewhere (it may have been in the Matt and Jeff's book) that Jeff lied about his age so he could wrestle?

No, Jeff was 16 in this match, in 1994 I belive: If you would've told me back in 1994 (if I was born back then ) that the kid in the white would one day be WWE, World Heavyweight, and TNA Champion; I'd laugh and ask you what the hell TNA is.

Yea I believe he is 16 in that 123 Kid Match. He is definitely 18 in the video I posted, I actually checked on the age before I posted it. Golddust and Razor feuded in early 1996, so that would put Jeff at 18 in that video (born 1977).
I also got a chuckle that the combined age of those 2 guys in the ring is 37. When was the last time that happened?
