His back was done by WM3, so for us to get him til WM6 was a prilvilege. At least the WWF made him look dominate til the end of his career, even when he lost.
Don't really understand what bringing him back in 1991 was meant to achieve? Although Earthquake v Andre was a sort of big man dream match at that point, Andre was never getting back in the ring.

Don't really understand what bringing him back in 1991 was meant to achieve? Although Earthquake v Andre was a sort of big man dream match at that point, Andre was never getting back in the ring. I always figured they kept him around for a couple reasons. Firstly, he was such a longtime star attraction that it almost didn't matter (to most fans anyway) what he had left. They'd still turn out to see Andre the Giant. Within the WWF promotion he was also such an integral figure, they probably enjoyed his company as much as the fans did, especially if there was a sense that his time was growing short. Secondly, I think I recall his close friends (Tim White, others) saying that when Andre started going downhill, he was in denial and seemed pretty desperate to maintain whatever normalcy was left in his life/career. Even when he could hardly stand up, it probably comforted him to be among his peers and part of the show, still.

If he was healthy and mobile into the 90s, then i'd say Bret Hart

A match vs The Undertaker would have been cool

there was no way he could wrestle any of them even if he hadn't died... by 1990 he was so hurt and in pain,he didn't even wrestle at all! he basically stood on the apron while Haku would do most of the work, and he'd come in and do a kick/punch/headbutt,etc. and that was it... by 1991, he couldn't even suit up,and was just good for some outside interference or to look injured to put someone over ( Earthquake)... by 1992 he was walking with the aid of those clip-on crutches... and,of course,by 1993 he was gone...

Sucks that he was never able to get revenge on Earthquake in the ring. Yesturday would've been his 66th birthday. I really miss Andre.

The 1991 comeback was meant to be a full-on comeback, Andre was even supposed to be in that year's Rumble, afterwards he was going to feud with Earthquake but I think everyone and Andre included knew it was done for him hence why they had Earthquake, Jimmy Hart, and (I believe) Dino Bravo take him out on an episode of Superstars a month after WM7.

His time tagging with Giant Baba in Japan was sad, as he could barely do anything.
