A lot of Bret not coming back had to do with him saying back in 1997-1998 that he would never return and blah blah blah.
His stroke and health CERTAINLY played a role in him not coming back but I think just as much had to do with him not wanting to come across as a sell-out and go back on his word.
Although, I couldn't have cared less about him going back on his word...I wanted Hitman back!!!!

What match did they want him to referee at WM18? I wondered that too, when reading Bret's book. Maybe Hogan vs. Rock??
