today is sting's birthday. he turns 53 years young. i thought we could tribute him today and share our favorite sting moments. mine would have to be winning his first world title at great american bash 1990. another would be him winning the nwa world title at bound for glory 2006.

yeah, i thought he was 55 at least. and yes, GAB 1990 tops all of them IMO. the build to the match with flair was pretty nice, chasing him around after returning from the leg injury. some days i almost get the itch to make a custom DVD of sting's world title wins. only thing that really stops me is i can never find the match were he won the WWA title (if any of you remember WWA, lol), and then of course the match in germany where he won the belt from vader, only thing i ever saw of that was a fan cam.

I pretty much liked any moments he was in the ring with Flair. They always had excellent matches. But yeah, GAB 90 for sure tops them all.

Sting vesus Hogan at Starcade 97 for me. That match had one of the best build ups in WCW history IMO.

my first exposure to Sting was reading Pro Wrestling Illustrated...we didn't really get any WCW programs and such around here back then...
my first televised exposure was that Clash of Champions where Luger attacked him,and he lost the US title to Rick Rude...

That match had one of the best build ups in WCW history IMO. in ANY history man. how they blew Stings comeback is anyones guess.the hottest property wrestling had seen in YEARS was just another guy by March. unreal.he wasnt even allowed beat Hogan clean in the rematch.sucked monkeyballs to high heaven.
