This auction's closed, so I figure it's cool to post this. cgi.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260211752211 Is this definitive proof that the "yellow boots" Dusty is just a sun-damaged regular Rhodes figure? Only the back of one of the boots is yellow; the one that also happens to be on the side with the one darker arm. It seems to me that extended sun exposure caused the plastic on top to get brown, and the painted part on the lower legs to fade, with the unpainted white boots also becoming discoulored due to the sun. See also that the yellow on the kneepads on the back seems lighter than the front (also telling me that this was left facedown outside in the elements for a long time). One of my children left a plastic Shrek figure outside and it did the same thing. I don't suppose I should pass that off as a rare variant as well, should I? I know a lot of people will groan and tell me that this is old news, but a lot of people still claim that yellow boots Dusty is a legit variant, and I've always said they're just damaged figures. Is there any proof otherwise, like a carded example (I've never seen one)? Am I just crazy (could be anyway), or is there some other explanation?

I have both versions of Dusty.
The big difference is that the white boots version has flesh color plastic molded legs. The yellow boots version has black plastic molded legs, but painted flesh color. This make the flesh color look much paler and the black color underneath is showing through a bit.

This one seems to be sunfaded and not "the real deal" as he claims.
So it's not the last word; there are yellow boots ones MOC; that's yellow all around, sun can't do that when MOC...

I wasn't "closing the case", I was asking what the last word on this is from the experts of the board. I've never seen one MOC with the yellow boots, that's why I was curious. And anyone with eyes can tell that this one is sun faded and that creates the thought that it is possible that this is how the boots get yellow on the un-carded figures.
Does anyone here have the yellow boots MOC, or have a picture of one?
PS: The guy who listed that "staked his rep" on the fact that this was the real deal. What does this mean for his rep? lol

I can't, but I followed one on ebay a year or so ago. Remember it catching a pretty penny.

Must have been an overseas only auction, because I have not seen one listed on ebay since I joined almost 9 years ago. I check all carded Hasbro auctions a few times a week.

That's possible, but I gave up because most sellers either refused shipping outside the U.S. or asked insane shipping. So I returned to the worldwide items (from the U.S.): those sellers know the international shipping fees.

STOMWIJF never wrote that he has it MOC, just that he had it. Blazer was just asking if there was a pic of it, period, I thought.
As far as I know, no one has ever seen this MOC and can provide proof.

I have put pictures in the database showing the difference, but would be gald to make some flat scans of both version together later today (I am at work/not home right now) if the old ones are not clear. (left) yellow boots, paler legs, more brownish torso and white hair (right) white boots, molded flesh color legs and greyish white hair
