Never liked it. Was a bad storyline and Meat was never good in the ring.

He wrestled with an erection once...... His name was Meat...... He was a bad wrestler........ Really no redeeming qualities. It was crap like this that gives Attitude era haters an actual argument to why that generation was trash.

part of the problem with the Attitude Era,especially early on,was that they would just throw anything out there,and hope it caught on...P.M.S. & Meat was one example...remember Beaver Cleavage? or The Oddities?

He had a few good storylines, built trust up in Vince, and snuck some crap through probably. I mean, at the time, Jerry Springer was one of the highest rated shows on TV. Probably didnt take much to convince McMahon that controversial subject matters may be popular. |

Yeah, Vince was a good filter for Russo. Leave Russo unchained and you get WCW 2000.

Vince Russo's biggest mistake was trying to get himself over as an on-air character. That's what turned fans off of WCW the most imo. His New Blood bullcrapwas a disaster of epic proportions. Hogan, Bischoff and Russo all needed taken off TV at the time and none of them could step away until Bischoff and Hogan finally cracked. If you go back and watch WCW from about Octoberish until it ended in March, the product got drastically more watchable imo. Terry Taylor was in charge, and he started booking the younger guys more correctly and orchestrated Steiner's run as well as putting Flair in charge and having Booker T build towards Steiner for 5 months.
That same Terry Taylor was pretty intricate in what TNA was doing from a booking standpoint prior to fall of 2006 as well until Russo was put in charge of creative. I just think Russo was an artist. He had a million different ideas and with no filter those ideas materialized on live television, for better or worse.

The only thing worse than Meat was the rhyming, oddball "Planet Stasiak" gimmick. Seriously- how many words rhyme with Stasiak?

Boring wrestler and bad gimmick and when you got a combination of both of those at the same time, you usually don't last too long in the wrestling business. Anyone got any idea what Shawn Stasiak is doin' these days??

Taylor was also a writer for WWF in the late 90s/early 00's as well, some of the more popular years in WWF history. |

Meat/Stasiak = Another no talent who thought he could make it in wrestling because his dad was a big star, although he was still better than many other wrestlers who have been in this catagory!
Stasiak claims he carried a tape recorder with him to record peoples promos so he could listen back to them and use them to practice his promo skills. Apparently he was riding with 2 wrestlers (davey boy & Sid I believe) and they were arguing in the car and Stasiak recorded the argument with his tape recorder for a laugh. When he got found out I think WWE management thought he was recording all wrestlers conversations and selling them off to dirt sheets etc. But he wasn't blackballed from wrestling, he had a decent run with WCW afterwards and eventually got brought back to WWE in what was a forgettable stint.

It was an obvious mistake. It made Stasiak seem like a prop for P.M.S, which killed the already small chance he had to get over. The name "Meat" alone is one of the worst ideas in wrestling history.
