Steiner had drop foot when he went back to WWE which eliminated roughly 70% of his moveset.so yeah he was a shadow of his former self ringwise.
IMO he still had plenty to contribute with the right opponents

He may have been good on the mic, but he more or less sucked in the ring. Every move he did was a suplex of some sort. Underhook suplex, belly-to-belly suplex, T-Bone suplex and on and on and on. It got VERY tiresome quickly...Especially his appearance in a Royal Rumble one year. That's all he did before getting eliminated in short order.

IMO he still had plenty to contribute with the right opponents Yeah, absolutely this right here. It's sort of like being critical of Kerry Von Erich during his time in WWE imo. Steiner had a foot he was dragging around the ring and he has described it as having total paralysis in the one foot. He had better matches in TNA post WWE than he did while he was in WWE because he got surgery to fix his foot. Steiner had great matches prior to WWE, and good matches post WWE, so I am going to say he is not sugarcoating anything regarding his foot injury. Nor do I think Steiner is the guy that has really ever lied about anything since he seems to have no filter. He also said he got brought into WWE to get buried and fed to Triple H, just like Nash, and Goldberg. Which is true for the most part from what we saw. He blatantly said he didn't care about his matches because of his injury and because he realized they didn't want to do business with him. |

The WWE completly booked Steiner wrong the second he stepped into a WWE ring. First problem is that he debuted as a face when he had no face qualities at all. He should have remained the dominant badass heel he was in WCW. Second problem is that even though the WWE knew of his foot injury, they still placed him in 30+ minute matches w/ HHH, who also was putting on some crappy matches at the time unless he was in the ring w/ HBK, RVD, or Booker T. Steiner and Hunter should have been limited to 10-15 minute street fights where they didn't have to do much in-ring work and could have taken breaks in the match. Everything about Steiner's WWE run was booked wrong and they simply brought him in to help HHH and to burry WCW some more.

I think he could have been face in the same way Randy Orton is a face. That being he keeps acting the way he has always acted and just book him against heels and people would cheer for him because he was an absolute badass. I personally don't think he was brought in as heel partly because they didn't want to risk him outshining Triple H. Which if he was anything like he was in 2001, he more than likely would have gotten as over as Triple H, if not more. |

bringing Steiner in as a heel would have been difficult-no doubt.at the time of his arrival you had
HHH Raws 1# heel
Brock Lesnar was getting turned due to crowd reactions and beings positioned to be SD!s top face.
Kurt Angle was being positioned to be SD! 1# heel
hard for him to fit as a heel and they obviously wanted him to be in a top program straight away.my God I was so excited for Steiner vs HHH.and SO let down buy the outcome.
