I know they're not the best of friends. The history of how Hunter and Shawn not liking Rocky is well documented. But does anyone have any info on how they were able to basically co-exist & work together with all the animosity that were between both of them? I mean, throughout 98-2000, Rock and Hunter were somehow always in a feud/angle. Did Rock and Hunter have a truce throughout their whole feud? Any info would be helpful

They are professionals. Much like the Matt/Edge/Lita situation, everyone had to act professional.

This. I've heard over the years that alot of guys didn't get along w/ Triple H, so alot of guys had to be professional w/ him, and not just Rocky. Funny thing is that while Rocky agreed to work w/ Triple H, he refused to work w/ HBK in 2002 because HBK refused to work w/ Rock back in 1997 and tried to ruin Rocky's career back then.

Its a shame...i remember rumors were flying for HBK vs. Rock at Wrestlemania 20. Would have been pretty epic, that was probably the only time those two crossed each other. Also in early 2003, but i remember HBK/Jericho and Austin/Rock were locked in stone for WM19, so that wasn't possible either. What irony that HBKs first ppv match in 4 years was the Rock's last ppv match for about 6 months.

Rock and HBK never had a problem with each other according to HBK. He said in his shoot in 2001 that he liked Rocky and thought he was a really entertaining guy. I guess something could have come up after that point but Rock was gone by the time HBK came back, and HBK was a different guy by that point anyway. Triple H I have no idea, they may have had legitimate beef. I've heard a lot of "Triple H was jealous" stuff, which I don't discredit but don't necessarily believe either, but dirt sheets at that time were ing ridiculous, even by today's standards.

HBK was still messed up w/ drugs in 2001. He also stated in an interview around that time that him and Owen Hart never had any problems either when it is well known that Shawn had a problem w/ all of the Hart's, and Bret even states in his book that Shawn purposly "potato'd"(the word Bret used) Owen on his head not long after the Screwjob. Bret also said in his book that Shawn and Hunter did all they could to try and screw Rocky behind the scenes from 1996-1997. It's been said from others as well that this was the case. I've never really believed much that Shawn has had to say in interviews, even since he fixed himself up.

Im pretty sure that The Rock is professional enough to work with anyone, from what I hear he's a really nice guy and doesn't play those kind of "games" behind the scenes. The reason he was probably willing to work with Triple H was because he was asked to, and the reason he never worked with Shawn was probably all down to each others schedule, HBK came back and The Rock left, even though The Rock came back for a few brief stints they always had HBK involved in something else already.
The reason Triple H was proberbly willing to work with Rock is probably because by the time there on screen feud became full on The Rock was a much bigger star than Triple H by then and he probably wanted it to elevate him to The Rocks level.
Also there feud in 1997 Triple H wasn't with Stephanie at that point and he'd only recently just started getting a push after a year of been burried as punishment for the curtain call.

Bret Hart has been nothing but a paranoid compulsive liar since about 1996 imo, so to each their own.

Its basically a known fact that everybody on the roster couldn't stand him back in 1997. Even Taker wanted to kick his ass at one point. Anybody who believes HBK's word over anybody else needs to be checked out.

Its a shame that they didn't headline WM16 (2000) in a singles match.
That along with Piper/Hogan at WM1 and Hogan/Flair (Though Savage/Flair was one of my all time fav fueds and a fantastic match) at WM 8 were the ones that should have been WM Main Events that were blown imo

I watched Rock/HHH from Backlash and hit on all cylinders. The reaction Rock gets when he sets up for the People's Elbow is off the charts.

Backlash 2000 was far superior to Wrestlemania 2000.

I thought the WM2000 main event had potential but failed miserably. Big Show should have lasted longer and Rocky should have won. They still could have done the Rock vs HHH match at Backlash even if Rocky had won at WM2000.

Good for Rocky for making it bigger in wrestling than Shawn and Hunter and bigger in movies than Hunter. I don't know why Vince let Shawn get away with all the things he's been accused of. It's not like he elevated WWF business against WCW. It really wasn't even until he was gone when WWF started to win. I'd think Vince would be smarter than to let Shawn and Vinnie Vegas control things. Rock's not even a full time wrestler, if he can even be called a wrestler at this point, and he gets a main event at Wrestlemania. It's nearly the same as Mr. T or Lawrence Taylor.

Just imagine how much more it would be remembered if it was at WM! Oh well just a missed opportunity. What a bad WM that was. One of the worst of all time id probably say.

Good for Rocky for making it bigger in wrestling than Shawn . Ehh....that depends on how you define "making it bigger". HBK's career had a greater impact on the wrestling business. Rock parlayed his short career beyond the wrestling biz to pehaps be even bigger than Hogan in terms of name recognition to the general population.
