What is the appeal to the Camel Clutch?
I'm asking this because every single time I've seen it applied, it just looks as effective as a hammerlock. For example, Scott Steiner vs Triple H at the 2003 Royal Rumble, it didn't look credible in the slightest. Same for when the Sultan eliminated Aldo Montoya at the 1996 Survivor Series; I don't understand how holding someone in that hold could make them want to tap out.
Additionally, what is it meant to apply pressure on, the back and neck? It may be the way that most wrestlers since the Iron Sheik have applied the Camel Clutch that makes it look bad, but I just don't understand it.

When being applied, it puts pressure on the small of the back. Then when the user grabs the chin and leans back, it makes for excruciating pain in the back, plus it hinders breathing. And with your arms hanging over the user's thighs, it's nearly impossible to power out.

Sheik is one of the few that made it look credible. When used right, it does hurt like a bitch

Sheik and Steiner made it look the best. Sheik because he basically sat on his opponents back when applying the move and Steiner because of how big and powerful he was. He looked like he could literally rip someone in half. Muhammad Hassan's version was also similar to the Sheik's and look pretty good as well.

Muhammad Hassan's was my favorite. Mostly because of his excellent facial expression.

When I was a kid I used to give my brother the camel clutch. From his cries for help, I could tell it hurt. That was my finisher back in the day!

Have you ever had someone put you in it? It's ing torture, it would legit break your back if they didn't let go when you tapped.

I thought Scott Steiner's camel clutch was awesome. It's essentially the equivalent of stepping on one end of a broom and pulling up on the other end until it snaps. Let someone put one on you, it doesn't feel good. Your spine is meant to bend under that type of pressure.
And on that note:

The camel clutch if you actually put it on someone, isnt very comfortable. However, the Cobra Clutch...well thats a different story LOL
