Hello everyone, i was wondering in the years since King of the Ring 1999 has any of the writers or wrestlers revealed who was supposedly behind the briefcase being raised? It prevented Austin from gaining 100% control of the company. I know they have never revealed anything on TV but i wasn't sure if anything has been said on shoot interviews or stuff like that. Thanks for any help!

I've never head any explanation, but the way I always saw it, it was just meant to be Vince and Shane likely paid someone off, that if Austin was about to get the case, they would raise it, preventing him from having the 100% control.

There were two names associated with the briefcase raising that I remember: Chris Jericho and Big Bossman. Considering Jericho never had any association with the Corporation, I-and many-have always thought we were to believe Bossman was responsible.

I thought they said the following day on Raw that it was BBM who raised the briefcase.

If I remember correctly, he was standing over near the top of the entrance ramp.
