The New Foundation 92 Plans

With the talk of Skinner vs. Owen Hart at WM 8 happening right now, does anyone know what (or if there was any) plans that were in store for the New Foundation in 1992??

Does anyone thing a tag title reign was in the happening for Neidhart and Owen?? Or was the tag team just gonna be there to get a few wins and put over the strong heel teams??

I genuinely dont think Vinnie had any serious plans for them.all the plans I heard for 92 revolved around LOD and Money Inc.Hawk ed those up twice.

and when LOD departed Vince brought the Steiners in.like I say I dont think there was any serious plans.

I'm sure he quit at one stage and i have it in my head that Animal teamed with Crush!?!

But would like to hear more info!

i don't know the first thing,but the second one was leading up to SummerSlam 1992,where LOD was to face Money Inc. for the Tag Titles ,but due to Hawk's continued drug/alcohol abuse,and refusing to commit to a long-term contract,resulted in Vinnie making Money Inc. lose the Tag Belts to the Natural Disasters shortly before SS,so that the belts wouldn't go back to LOD....

right after the card,Hawk basically "disappeared" into the mists of England,as it were,and was done....Animal honored the remaining dates of his contract and teamed up with Crush for those tag matches...

it was right after that Vinnie put the belts back on Money Inc....so the Natural Disasters whole short reign was basically just to allow LOD to get over in their Summerslam match without having to win the Tag Belts...

I think they would have at least had a title run, they were huge fan favorites during their matches and were undefeated, they'd been involved with Flair's intro to the company too.

Apparently though Vince had some money issues in 92 and had to let a whole bunch of wrestlers go (by not renewing their contracts). Neidhart was one of them.

I think there was alot of stuff going on backstage with Anvil and Chief Jay Strongbow, from what I heard they didn't get along and I heard eventually Anvil got fired for throwing a TV monitor at him. Eventually they replaced Anvil with Koko B Ware and became High Energy, while still used as a vehicle to get other Tag Teams over I think High Energy had a better run than New Foundation.

here were the pans for 92 as I have heard them through shoots etc

Vince formed the Disasters to be a big threat to LOD as his new premiere heel squad.but after some disasterous LOD vs ND matches and huge crowd indifference to them Vince put together Money Inc.basically the NDs were viewed as a failure-which they were in every respect.

Money Inc were meant to go over LOD @ WM8 by nefarious means then LOD would chase them to Summerslam 92 and regain the belts in front of the white hot Wembley crowd.Vince knew how popular thye were in Europe and planned to capitalise.I believe LOD would have had to won a 2/3 falls match en route to SSlam 92 on SNME in July.

BUT Hawk was suspended in the run up to WM8 and LOD didnt wrestle on the card.Vince retained his plan fopr LOD to leave wembley as champs but Hawks problems continued.

Vince gave Money Inc the titles then hotshotted them onto the NDs for Summerslam-but nobody gave a sh*t about them then either.

terrible pity really.......LOD were over like crazy at Wembley BUT Hawk turned up well and truly baked.ed up the entrance on the bikes and basically staggered around for the whole match.so sad.

and if Vince had ANY plans for Neidhart and Owen(which I seriously doubt he did)he wouldnt have chased up the Steiner the moment LOD were finished.he didnt have anyone there to be the premiere face squad.

You're right, I was at Summerslam 92 and the pop LOD got was off the hook, way bigger than Ultimate Warrior and Macho Man, the only pop bigger that night was British Bulldog (who was the home country boy) Apparently after the show Hawk went and partied with some London Hells Angels and that was the last Animal saw of him until they reunited in WCW years later.

From what I've read over the years, Vince didn't really have any major plans for the New Foundation.

However I've read a few times Jim & Owen were supposed to have had a good tag team push in 1995 but Neidhart's problems forced him out and put Yokozuna in the picture.

Sad too I loved the team of Owen & Neidhart in 1994-1995 and thought they could've been th second coming of the Hart Foundation.

According to Neidhart's shoot Vince had been letting people go because of money issues (I believe the steroid scandle had really got bad at this point), among the people let go was Neidhart unfortinately. So they stuck Koko B Ware in a team with owen and they were mid carders .

I've never heard of any issue Neidhart had with Chief Jay.

Owen & Anvil were probably thrown together in 1992 just to give them both something to do. Their attire sucked and they were kind of bland.

HOWEVER, as mentioned above, their 1994 run had a lot more potential but even that didn't last long and Anvil ended up getting replaced with Yokozuna and eventually, British Bulldog.

Anvil saved Owen from the Blue Blazer gimmick, watch their rumble 92 match, see how popular they were. They most definately would have been big.

How many other teams could have kept the crowd interested and cheering in a lengthy match with the Orient Express.

Yeah I wasn't a fan of there attire either, I thought it made them hard to take serious, there music didn't really help either. I think while they wern't the Hart Foundation in pink and black they should have had attire simlar to that, (maybe something simlar to Owen's blue attire) and had better music. I really think if they were given the right direction then they could have done the rest.
