Four Horsemen/Dungeon of Doom in 1996...

Can anyone fill me in on what the storyline or feud was about between these two groups? I'm referring to the tag match at Bash at the Beach with Giant and Sullivan against Anderson and Benoit. Can anyone that watched back then, tell me what the storyline and whatnot was with them? Did they continue their feud after the PPV? I know that 2 months or so later Giant jumped to the NWO after losing to Hogan at Hog Wild.

I think it goes back to like late 95 or early 96, where Sullivan and Flair had an 'understanding' to work together to end Hulkamania. And then somehow Pillman and Sullivan started to feud and then when Pillman left, then put Benoit in that place.

I think the Benoit/Sullivan feud was over Nancy, at the time she was married to Sullivan but was with the Horsemen, and in the storylines she was having a bit of slap and tickle with Chris Benoit.. Which later lead to them having a real affair behind the scenes. In the storyline Anderson, Flair and Sullivan all had mutual respect for each other but Sullivan had issues with Pillman and his dis respectful attitude, but Flair and Anderson would side with Pillman over Sullivan since he was a Horseman, this lead to friction between Horsemen and Dungion of Doom and they went to war, not long after the feud Pillman left and shortly after that nWo burst onto the scenes and the horsemen/Dungion of doom feud took a backseat. Benoit wrestled Sullivan at one of the ppvs in. Career ending match and Benoit won, that was the last we saw of Sullivan till he returned years later with the Varsity Club.
