Tried putting a DVD into my MacBook Pro but it will not accept it. There's no other DVD in the drive so I have no idea why it won't accept the disk.
Anyone know what the problem may be?

Your disc drive may just be dead. What type of Macbook Pro do you have? What's your OS? Go to About This Mac> More Info> Hardware > Disc Burning/Disc Drive and see if it says "Reads DVDs" or if it's even there.

It says it reads DVDs.

Perhaps it's able to read the DVD's but the mechanics that push the DVD into the drive aren't responding. You may have better help with this if you take it to the Apple Support Forums. That's what I do when I have a Macbook Pro-related issue.
