With the talk of certain NWA guys coming over to WWE during that time period, imagine how powerful and strong SummerSlam 88 could have been if guys jumped over in July of that year.
We could have had Savage vs. Flair for the WWE Title, Road Warriors vs. Demolition for the WWE Tag Titles, Hart Foundation vs. Brain Busters, Hulk Hogan & Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Ted DiBiase & Andre The Giant just for starters.
It's kind of crazy to think what that Summer Slam could have been if you think of all the talent that could have been there at the time.
Anyone else have any guesses on what matches may have happened at that event if the big name NWA stars had jumped ship to the WWE that summer??

Man, stick a British Bulldogs & Sting vs. Dr. Death, Mike Rotunda, and Greg Valentine match on there to round it out and you've got a sick card.

SummerSlam '88 was still a great card, no matter what. Great mid-card matches and a great main event with The Mega Powers vs. The Mega Bucks with Jesse "The Body" Ventura as special guest referee. Man, that was classic. I miss those days of wrestling. They are LONG gone, that's for sure.

I was watching a ton of SummerSlam recently and said that the first 5 SummerSlam's are better than the first 5 WrestleMania's. I was shocked to find out how many people agreed with me. SummerSlam always had a better undercard, but the main events weren't always stellar. While WrestleMania had the great main events with the shitty undercard. SummerSlam '92 has all the strength in the world to say it's better than WrestleMania III.

one things for sure Summerslam was second only to WM in terms of importance.....and as said often exceeded WM in terms of quality.
