What do you guys think were some of their most important or best moments outside of the Federation?
Mine would be jamming the Spike in the eye of Rhodes!

NWA with Spiking Rhodes eye was a huge one and maybe the Scaffold Match with the Midnight Express.

First Crockett Cup Tournament winners and scaffold match all in one years time.

Winning their first tag titles in the AWA.
Their tag title match against Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard at Starrcade.
They turned heel on Sting and had a brief feud with him.
They had a great feud with Ivan and Nikita Koloff.
Being in the first few War Games matches.
I think Animal won one of the Bunkhouse Stampede matches.
Both had a few singles title matches against Ric Flair that were pretty good.
Their AWA feud with the Freebirds was excellent.
Their feud with the Powers of Pain was pretty cool, and they had a "weightlifting contest" during it that put a mask on animal for a while when they attacked him with a weight plate.
The tag team iron man toruanment against Doom, The Steiner Brothers, and the New Wild Samoans.
