Just curious about this, but I am just watching Survivor Series 96 on WWE Classics on Demand, and they edited out "Don't Go Messin' With A Country Boy" for generic hee haw type music.
Also, on the old WWF Coliseum videos, they edit out Hillbilly Jim's music for generic country music.
Is there a reason why Hillbilly Jim's music can't be used??

It's gotta be a licensing/rights issue of some sort. Either they had the rights to the music and let them expire, or were licensing the rights from the owner, and don't feel like paying for that song anymore. That song was on the original Wrestling Album in 1985, which they put together with the help of some legit music industry pros (Cyndi Lauper, Rick Derringer, probably some unnamed writers/producers/etc. that we never knew about). I'm wondering if whomever wrote the song owns the rights and WWE simply didn't want to keep paying for licensing. Or else the original record company owns the rights.

Oh man, I didn't know about Slick and Demolition music being changed.
I don't get why the WWE doesn't have the copy rights to that music, being they produced it, did they not?!?!
It's not like they were using Rob Zombie's music for Edge and then edited out that music in the home video releases, these were actually WWE themes I thought.

But when he came down to "Hard Time" he usually ran to the ring half way with some energy. I can't picture him getting that kind of energy from that heel generic music he used in 98 - 2002 in his last WWE run.
