So im watching an episode of Raw from May of 98' and im wondering as to why Shawn Michaels was still included in the opening. Are there any reasons for this?

He was still around in '98 till Wrestlemania 14 time. Plus, he was always under contract (hence why he had his Commissioner run) so that's another reason. I would compare it to how Undertaker is in Smackdown's intro now.

yeah they kept him around on the intro because they planned to use him onscreen a lot more than they ended up doing.he was supposed to be a lot more involved with the DX Army but various issues prevented that.

I don't think they knew how long HBK was going to be away from the ring for at the time.

he was involved with the wwe, and at a time was a major draw...why not leave him in?

He was expected to come back for Summerslam and face Triple H. He originally told them that he wouldn't be out long. There's some old issues of the WWF magazine where "The Informer" talks about HBK coming back and forming his own DX with Matt and Jeff Hardy to face Triple H that summer. That is why Triple H buried Shawn the night after WM14.
