When Hulk Hogan returned to the WWF in 93, did he have any other matches besides the WM9 tag match and the match with Yokozuna at KOTR?
Additionally, does anyone know if his run was always meant to be so short? He was only in the WWF for abut 6 months before losing to Yoko and leaving again. I know the plan was for a Hogan/Hart match at SummerSlam that Hogan backed out of. Did that contribute to his return being cut short?

www.profightdb.com/wrestlers/hulk-hogan-19.html?year=1993i'm not sure how reliable this info is. It's quite a good site but sometimes doesn't include other shows, such as superstars, wrestling challenge etc. or house shows. as far as i'm aware Hogan has always had a light schedule and i wouldn't imagine that would be any different in his short stint in 1993. He was involved in a couple of angles on Monday Night Raw. (I think he saved Beefcake from an attack by Money Inc. but not too sure)

I think if Vince had it his way...Hogan never would have left. However, Hogan went off to do his TV shows and movies and was probably done with the travel schedule and the WWF's popularity as a whole was just beginning to decline at this point. I was always under the impression that he was already on his way out BEFORE Wrestlemania 9 and him actually appearing was in part of Vince giving him the title again. I don't think he had any plans of holding the title past King of the Ring. I'm actually shocked Hogan stayed around till then...

According to that link Hogans last match for anyone before wrestlemania ix was wrestlemania 8.
It still sucks abit that hogan won at wrestlemania but he was still a definite household name and still obviously drew money even though wrestlemania 9 is considered one of the worst ever (not in my opinion mind).

word is that he was given the belt and victory at WM9 so he could drop it to Hart at SS93.
Hart was always meant to win KOTR as a platform to the match with Hogan.
I think there was even a promo poster finished for Summerslam 93 with both men holding onto the World Belt.

I think it was for WWF magazine but it either never got printed or it got printed but was meaningless because Yoko had the belt back by then and the Lex Express had started.

Hogan and Beefcake worked a few House Shows against the Beverly Brothers before and after Wrestlemania 9, and Hogan also worked a tour of Europe shortly after KOTR. Otherwise that was it for him, he had maybe 5 or 6 matches total during that period.

Yeah, Hogan and Beefcake did indeed wrestle the Beverly Brothers, cause it is on a Coliseum Video release from 93.

But really, the LE could have still happened, and against Yoko too, just have Yoko as a crazy, huge unbeatable monster. Wouldn't it have worked, I didn't start watching till 99, but still have read up alot of the 90's. But if that year had happened for Bret, would he have been too over? Warrior, Hogan and Savage were all top fan favourites, hell maybe even the top 3, would Bret have been cheered? Again, I could be wrong, but I just can't see Bret being bigger than any of those three.

Although Hogan got a great pop at WM 9, people were wanting something different by 1993 and Bret Hart was their answer. Hence why when WWF tried to shove Lex down everybody's throats it worked for a couple months and then fizzled out again and they went back to Bret. In fact, if you look at Bret's entire run during the 1990s it all seems to go that way. Bret is champ, loses, Hogan takes over. Bret wins king of the ring, Luger gets Summerslam push. Bret wins at Wrestlemania 10, Diesel gets year long title reign. Bret gets title back, Shawn gets run in 1996. You see my point. I think Bret was always Vince's "fallback plan" instead of being his #1 guy through the entire 90s.

Even though Bret was THE MAN in the 90s, Vince never seemed to want to acknowledge it, and constatly pushed less talented guys over him. But everytime he did that, he ended up going back to Bret.
