Anyone else miss the times when Taz would decimate any and all competitors, while waiting to exact his revenge on Sabu, his arch rival that broke his neck?
These were the days of ECW that I loved...Taz on the killing spree...Malenko/ Guerrero Classics every week...The Eliminators.
My buddy and I used to stumble home from the clubs and watch it at 3AM.
Good times.

I miss those times, for sure. I miss ECW as a concept, an idea and a vision, most definitely.
I may be amiss here, but can you tell me when Sabu broke Taz's neck? I remember that Benoit 'crippled' Sabu in '94, and that in '95 Taz got a spike piledriver from Malenko and Scorpio in Florida that broke his neck...can't recall when Sabu injured Taz...
Hardcore TV was brilliant, loved it.

one of the legit tough guys in ecw for sure. it's interesting how the most pivotal point of his career came after him suffering that devastating injury

Hardcore TV was brilliant, loved it. My apologies here..it was actually Taz that broke Sabu's neck. Taz would go on to call out Sabu for a year or so before they actually wrestled in probably the longest and probably unplanned build-up ever. The lights would go out...there would be Taz..standing with arms crossed....that was when he looked like such a bad ass.

I loved the "Taz is gonna kill you" chant. I would have loved to see a Taz/Raven feud.

I love watching clips of what Taz was. That guy destroyed people and loved what he did in the ring.

I loved the "Taz is gonna kill you" chant. I loved that one, too. Definitely added to the atmosphere when Taz entered the arena.

It's a shame that most fans nowadays just know Taz as a goofy commentator who likes to, "Let the pigeons loose!" instead of the absolute MONSTER that he was. I missed the original run of ECW, but when I look back, Taz just had this aura about him. Paul E sums it up pretty well on the Rise and Fall when he says Taz was wrestling's first real, UFC style fighter in the modern age, and people really believed he would beat the hell out of whoever was in front of him. A great wrestler, who I think deserves a lot more credit. He's paid the price for his high impact style though.
