August 6 marks the 69th birthday of wrestling great Jimmy Valiant of the WWF Valiant Brothers aka NWA’s Boogie Woogie Man. I am pleased to post this birthday news in honor of a great friend of wrestling fans. Jimmy is one of the most accessible to his fans and holds a strong reputation amongst wrestlers he worked with and younger wrestlers who admire him.
When Jim Cornette presented him with an award a few years ago Jim mentioned Jimmy gave of his time to a young Jim Cornette and helped him when he was getting his start. That is just the way Jimmy is. He is very supportive to all fans and very inviting to those coming to his museum/camp which is on the grounds of the home of he and his wife Angel. Angel is his third wife and certainly they are two people who were meant to be together. They are the type of people that the quote “once you are a friend of (insert name) you are a friend for life” was made for.
Jimmy runs a wrestling museum and camp for students every Sunday from 12 until 4 PM on Alleghany Spring Road in Shawsville, VA. A trip to Shawsville to see Jimmy provides fans with a unique opportunity to see a show, check out the great memorabilia, photos and magazine articles from nearly 50 years he has been involved with wrestling and get treated like royalty by Jimmy.

His book is a very long read, but worth it. He doesn't have a bad thing to say about anyone that he's encountered in the wrestling business. He also does the "two-handed hand shake" and won't let go for a little while. He seems like a guy who could tell some really funny stories.
Happy birthday, Boogie Man. I wish you many more.

I picked up from the book as well that he doesn't have anything negative to say and he's someone who others don't have anything negative either.
There is a story in his book about Jerry Lawler buying him a house to come wrestler for Lawler's promotion and it's neat reading the story in Lawler's book as well. Though Jimmy says he stayed longer in the house than Lawler remembers.
