Hey guys, I've seen multiple pictures lately of a supposed variant of the Hasbro Rick Rude figure where he is wearing tights with a darker shade of pink as opposed to the purple tights most commonly seen today. What I want to know is, is this for real? Here is a picture of what I'm talking about (sorry if this topic has been posted before): credit: eBay seller wwefiguresmoc

Yes, it is. I'd never thought much about it, but I suppose it is a "variant". I looked at the one I originally bought in 1990 and compared it to one of the loose ones I have and the tights are indeed a different color.

It's VERY hard to tell from a photo if one is the lighter of darker version without another next to it for comparison. Sometimes the flash of the camera will make the purple seem lighter, sometimes no flash will make a lighter one look dark.

Legit variant, as Scotty wrote, on ebay it's tough to tell the difference unless side by side.

To me it does look a little fake, but I just bought the figure on eBay to find out first hand.

That's cool. I had never seen the pink Rude before.

Here's a comparison of one of my loose Rude figures shot both with and without a flash. Maybe that'll help you in hunting online if you're trying to find them based on pics alone. You can use the comparison to figure out which one is being offered for sale.

hey Hasbromaniac, I presume you would have them both MOC and on several different card variants each, right?

Cheers, i think ill look around the bootfairs for this one instead of ebay, thats where i picked up my current Rick Rude anyway, i guess its the safer option too

LOL! no, one MOC and just one loose which was picked up recently from the same seller. I didn't realize that I actually had a carded one until after I bought the loose one.

Thanks a lot guys for answering.
Anyone know how much a loose and moc version of the variant Rude would be worth?

Here's a scan of a carded pink Rude, loose pink Rude and purple carded Rude: If this can be considered a variant, than I guess this Flair is one also ? Here was the seller's description. " This auction is for an extremely RARE WWF HASBRO NATURE BOY RIC FLAIR VARIANT FIGURE. This is a rare version with pink-peach colored legs and his hair is almost white. I''ve had about 30 RIC FLAIR HASBROS and this is the only one I've ever seen with this variation.". Yes, I did buy this piece from him. Curiousity got the best of me. I also own two different "Cowboy" Randy Savages MOC with lighter purple and darker purple outfits; neither sun faded of course. Are they errors or variants
