One of my favorite what if scenarios is Marky-Mark being the lead in Titianic and Leo as the lead in Boogie Nights. Crazy to think how close that actually came to being a thing... I know man! This was the movie that made me a Mark Wahlberg fan so I'm glad history panned out the way it did. Leo is such an incredible actor though that it really would've been very interesting. Am I right in thinking Joaquín Phoenix was considered as well? He was. I love how PTA uses the same actors.

Whiplash (2014)
The film is an intense, but stylish, drama about a young jazz drummer named Andrew Neyman (Miles Teller) pursuing his dream of becoming one of the great jazz musicians as he rises to the top of his elite music conservatory. Terence Fletcher (J.K. Simmons), an instructor and leader of the school's top ensemble, discovers Andrew and invites him to try out for his band. Fletcher's frightening methods, however, push Andrew on the verge of his ability and sanity, as he then spirals into an obsession with wanting to achieve perfection. Both actors deserve Oscar nominations for their work in this movie.

Alien vs Predator II: Requiem.
Has some damn fine moments but the directors got seriously sidetracked.

"Zoo" is a documentary about a man who died after having sex with a horse. It's sort of interesting but kind of boring, actually. It's really slow, but the interviews with people who engage in such activities were interesting.
"Compliance" is a film based on a true story. It's about a guy who pretends to be the police and calls a fast food place. He tells the manager that a girl there stole money and instructs the manager to conduct a very nvasive search on the girl. The true story is quite disturbing, but the film seemed to pointless to me. The director seems like an idiot, too, based on his interview on the dvd. The movie seemed souless to me. Terrifying story, though.
"Human Centipede 2" is not recommended viewing. It's highly stylized, but it's beyond gross. It's easily top three grossest movies I've ever seen. And I've seen some sh**. This movie is extremely extreme.

John Wick: 9/10 - Just a pure, nothing held back action movie. Directed wonderfully, the action scenes are incredible, and Keanu Reeves is a badass. It knows exactly what it is, and does it well, with a main villain that's over the top in a good way. The world building in this film was fantastic, how this world of assassins works was legitimately cool and interesting. Have gone to see this three times.
Birdman: 10/10 - Absolutely incredible film, shot amazingly so it feels like you're there backstage at this play that is being produced. Michael Keaton gives the best performance of his career, and Edward Norton gives his best in years. Emma Stone has a more minor role, but is the best she has ever been. The movie has a great commentary behind it on not only the film industry itself, but the critics who write about it, and the people who go to see movies. I cannot think of a single flaw in this movie for me personally, there is nothing I would change. The comedy in the film is dark, but pulled off incredibly, and this is easily one of the best movies I have ever seen. I cannot recommend it enough for those who are into this sort of film.
Big Hero 6: 8/10 - Just a really great family film. The action was great, the humor was fantastic, and the main character was pretty well developed. The animation is also excellent. The biggest flaw is under developed side characters. It doesn't really detract too much from the film, but you can't help but wish we got to spend a bit more time getting to know the rest of the team. If you have kids this is easily a movie that would be good for them and that you would enjoy as well, and if you're kids aren't quite ready for the superhero films yet, this is a good introduction to those kind of movies, done in a kid friendly way. Highly recommend.

"Oh he's big and fat and stupid" but he changes into a superhero. But I also know I'm over thinking this and being sensitive

Because if so, it's not really portrayed as stupid, it's more uninformed. He's a robot, and so he doesn't really understand everything, and takes things more literally, and he's both incredibly funny, and kind of the heart and soul of the movie in my opinion

Birdman for the second time. Hands down the best movie of the year. I quite frankly think it's in discussions of modern masterpieces. It's done things I've never really seen in other films and is that good My favorite aspect of the movie is the phenomenal camera work that twists, turns, and is so fluid. I loved how the movie looked like it was one continuous shot. I'll be shocked if it doesn't dominate the Oscars.
