so there ya have it......who was the better champ for the attitude era?again props to Mikey for the Poll suggestion.
now I LOVE the Rock but I have to go with Austin here.for me his feud with McMahon personifie the Attitude Era and he was a big part of ushering it in too.
what say you lads?

As much as I love The Rock, he was just one of those guys who was better chasing then as champ. Stone Cold was a better champ, and like you said Joker, his feud with McMahon pretty much was the Attitude Era personified.

has to be austin for me as well. again to mention the feud with mcmahon, it made it all the more feasable that the owner wouldn't want austin as champion so added to their feud, which of course was the underpinning storyline of the attitude era!

Of course it's Austin, his whole character was based around his Attitude and basically was the launch figure for the Attitude Era.

Yeah it's definitely Austin. I was and still am a much bigger fan of The Rock, but Austin WAS The Attitude Era.

Austin hands down. Rock was to Austin what Piper was to Hogan, the only difference was that Rock got title runs where as Piper, who I think everyone would agree deserved it, never did.

Austin for me for sure, The Rock is unlucky that he was up against him. But then again, we know those guys put together could make some magic too.

Austin was for the WWF in the late 90's like Hogan was for the WWF in the mid-80's...
simply put,not only the face of the company, but for all intents and purposes the face of WRESTLING.....
as hot as the Rock got,as over as he was in his prime....Austin was still hotter in his prime of 1998 - 1999 ....
Hogan may have been hotter longer, from let's say 1985 - 1989 , but i still feel Austin burned even HOTTER than Hogan during his 2 years on top....

Austin, without a doubt...from winning the Rumble to No Way Out Of Texas to WMXIV, the feud with Vince, and despite losing the title at Breakdown, he was hotter than anything at the time, and a crucial figurehead as WWE champion.

Austin was a better champion. When The Rock was in the hunt it seemed better.
