Hey everyone, we all know house shows can have some pretty good match ups, and some we never got to see on tv or as an actual rivalry. I thought it would be interesting to see some of the best matches/main events from house shows/live events from the past. Since this is the Classic board, try to keep it to before 2006. Heres some of mine:
2002: Raw house show: WWE Undisputed Champion Undertaker defeated WWE Intercontinental Champion RVD.
2003: Raw house show: Shawn Michaels & Booker T defeated Randy Orton and Ric Flair.
2005: Raw house show: WWE Champion John Cena defeated Triple H. The match was so much better than their WrestleMania 22 match.
What are some of yours?

August 24, 1990 - I saw Rick and Scott Steiner win the NWA US tag team titles. At the time I was a HUGE Steiner mark.

The only house show I've been too was a Smackdown houseshow in October 2004. The main event was JBL & Orlando Jordan vs Big Show & Undertaker. Although the match of the night was Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt Angle.

Probably Undertaker vs. Triple H in a NO DQ match sometime back in 2001.

June 1992 - Catholic Youth Center in Scranton,PA.
WWF Champion Randy Savage vs Ric Flair.....i s**t you not when i say the crowd was about 90% pro-Flair....he got a HUGE reaction....and when he PINNED Savage and WON THE TITLE the entire place went friggin NUTS!!! at least til the referee handed Ric the belt and raised his hand, and the foreign object that Flair had decked Savage fell out of his armpit where he hid it,and the referee reversed his decision and DQ'ed Flair...
April 1997 - Bryce Jordan Center in State College,PA.
i honestly can't remember the rest of the card (but DID remember the place was more than half empty) ,but i was there for the main event anyway....WWF Champion The Undertaker vs The British Bulldog....first time i saw Taker in a venue like that, where they could do the smoke and lighting and stuff properly....he won, too, which was the icing on the cake...
last card i was to was in 2002,and that was a Raw ....i haven't been to an actual house show since 1998....

I remember seeing a cage match between Hogan and Jake the Snake against Savage and DiBiase as a kid, probably 89 or 90
also remember a tag match from 92 with Flair/Michaels vs Savage/Hart
also saw Bret vs Owen
also Flair vs Piper in a cage
and a fatal four way between Austin, Undertaker, Kane and Mankind

Pre 2006? Triple H vs. Chris Benoit. HBK vs. Jericho was great too, but that was after 2006.

I have seen it online since I live in no mans land, but in 1989 Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair put on wrestling clinics at house shows.

2003- Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero vs. Rhino & Ron Simmons I believe. The other so called main event that night was Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle (I thought that was the true ME)

Some interesting matches. Here's some more I thought of:
2003: Louisville Street Fight: Shane McMahon, Test, and RVD were involved, it was a 6 man tag I believe, it was kinda of a free for all. Test actually broke his ankle in that match and wore the cast on TV for a little while.
2002: Hardcore Championship match, basically a free for all, like 10 guys involved, Bradshaw ended up keeping the belt.

I was there for that match too! It was at Broadbent Arena. I cant remember if it was Shane vs RVD or a tag match with Shane and Test vs RVD and a partner, though. The very first house show I ever went to was in 1992 as a 7 year old in old Louisville Gardens. The matches I can remember taking place was Bret Hart vs Mountie, Randy Savage vs Jake Roberts, and Hogan vs Sid. What a line up for a house show.

It was a great night though, the match was pretty solid for a hardcore match. I remember Kane was my favorite at the time, and he was involved with his feud with Shane. Kane had just had the limo accident on Raw where he wrecked into the truck cause of Shane. I remember the announcer saying Kane would not be there due to his injuries from Raw. I also remember HBK at the end of the night was standing in the ring closing the show and a drunk fan jumped the ring. The cops came in and tried to arrest him but Shawn told them to let him go. Good event.

I also was Taker vs RVD champ vs champ and the match was awesome. I honestly don't remember any others. I saw Lesnar vs somebody, I think the Undertaker. I don't remember the main event at the last one I went to.
House shows always have really good matches though since they're trying things out for the live shows and future angles.

I've seen some excellent matches at house shows over the years. Talking pre-2006, though, here are a few of my favorites...
June, 2002 - Kurt Angle vs. Edge
June, 2003 - Kurt Angle & Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena & The Big Show
October, 2004 - Randy Orton & Chris Benoit vs. Triple H & Batista (w/ Ric Flair)

Some of my personal favorite house show experiences:
1986: Hulk Hogan vs. Paul Orndorff (title match) Roddy Piper vs. Adrian Adonis Ricky Steamboat vs. Jake Roberts (cage match)
1987: British Bulldogs vs. Hart Foundation (tag title match) Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage (Steamboat defending the IC belt, cage match)
1988: Randy Savage vs. Ted DiBiase (title match)
1989: Randy Savage (WWF champ) vs. Ultimate Warrior (IC champ) (shortly before Savage turned heel on Hogan)
1990: Demolition vs. Legion of Doom (not a technical masterpiece, but it was a total dream match at the time)
1992: Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair (Savage defending the title... same finish as the Scranton show mentioned above, but I saw it in Binghamton NY) Bret Hart vs. Davey Boy Smith (IC title... this was about two months before Summerslam 1992 and was apparently a dry run for that match. Excellent match that included Davey Boy doing the crucifix pin spot, but Bret kicked out and ended up retaining)
1995: Shawn Michaels vs. Davey Boy Smith (HBK got into his famous fight in Syracuse later that night)
2002: Triple H & Kane vs. Chris Jericho & Kurt Angle (HHH's first match back from quad injury... three days before his Raw return)
