A bit early for the hall of fame but I was just wondering who your top 10 wrestlers who should be in the WWE hall of fame and aren't?
My list is....
1. Bruno Sammartino, The guy held the WWE or WWWF as it was known then world title longer than anyone in WWE history and pretty much dominated the company from near the time it started untill the early 80s, A WWE hall of fame I feel is a joke without this man.
2. The British Bulldogs Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith, were one of the most sucessful tag teams during the 80's, Davey Smith went on to be a major star in the WWE and probably the most over wrestler in the UK during the early 90's and Dynamite Kid in my opinion is the greatest wrestler on a wrestling skills only basis ever.
3. Crusher Lisowski and Dick The Bruiser, Since the WWE has inducted others from the AWA like Verne Gagne and one of the Vachons I think its only deserving that these 2 who spent most of their career in the AWA are inducted as well, Played beer drinking tough style guys before Stone Cold and Sandman were born.
4. Lou thesz, Probably the most successful wrestler before the WWF even began if they inducted Gorgeous George from his era they should by rights also induct Thesz.
5. Randy Savage, I think he will go in next year being one of the greatest wrestlers during his era.
6. Bob Backlund, Was WWE world chamption in the late 70's early 80's then came back in the 90's and won it again.
7. Ivan Koloff, Former WWE champion and one of the few men to beat Sammartino.
8. The Fabulous Freebirds Hayes, Gordy and Roberts, One of the first wrestlers to have their own entrance music and suposedly partly inspired The NWO, and their feud with the Von Erichs is one of the best feuds of all time.
9. Bruiser Brody, One of the greatest hardcore style wrestlers of all time, The inducted Abduallah last year so they should induct Brody who had more talent.
10. Jake Roberts, Kind of one of the few big names of the 80's not to be inducted yet he may have had his problems with drugs and alcohol but it should not mean his career should be over looked because of it.
There are others I agree should be in it maybe more than some who are already like The Undertaker, Triple H, Sting, The Rock etc but I feel its too early for those guys and should happen at the end of their careers.
I also don't agree with having a celebrity wing in a wrestling hall of fame but if they have to have one I can't see how they can without Mr T, Cyndi Lauper who both were a big part of the original wrestlemania especially with advertising it and also Andy Kauffman who put Memphis wrestling on the map during the Hulkmania days and got Lawler over as a household name.
