Hey everyone, you may or may not remember me. I tried a pic fed once before and unfortunately, my schedule overwhelmed my chance at giving it as much effort and time as it deserved. However, I just quit my 3rd job and would like to take this up as my spare time hobby...
But I'm the kind of person if I do something, I want to do it the best it can possibly be done and I want it to be entertaining and interesting. So I will start by saying, or asking rather, do you feel that perhaps a single one-on-one match would be the best way to start? Then I could get some feedback/help/suggestions/criticisms...and work from there/ How did some of the more experienced Pic Fedders get started and how did you improve to the point where some of you actually have a decent following...
I'm sorry, I take anything I do very seriously. Any help will be appreciated.

Dude, I would honestly go that way. I tried launching my own Fed with three matches and I got so convoluted, I just couldn't follow up the way I wanted to and I lost my smile (lol). People sometimes frown on single match shows cuz they seem so short, but hey, try filling up with something else that can maybe build up intrigue about your fed, little vignettes, backstage happenings, a back story of your 2 main antagonists on that first episode. I always wanted to start just like you, with a single match, and from there, just add and add to it. Those are my 2 cents.

Thanks for your 2 cents. They're worth a lot around here sir. I think I will give a single match a shot, then use that to build off of with peoples' input.

I always wanted to do something like * (Thumb Wrestling Federation), where each episode is just a match, yet there is still an overall idea of a Federation. For those who never saw their site (if I shouldn't be posting the link, lemme know Mods, I'm guessing since it's just a cartoon show there should be no biggie): www.thumbwrestlingfederation.com/

I have seen that, what I was thinking by a single match though wasn't every show, but rather just to start, and to get some feed back before I start the overall federation so I know what i need to work on and hopefully from my first episode then, it will at least be watchable...

Nothing wrong with being passionate about your hobby If you wanna start with a test match and get feedback from people, that would be a good start. You'll develop a following by a number of ways but I'd say the most important aspects to build a following are consistency, originality, and replying to other peoples work. The more shows you put out, obviously you'll get more exposure. Also, the more it's different from other feds/tv via storylines, customs, presentation, etc, the more people are gonna remember it. Then of course most other fedders around here will show a courtesy to reply to your show if you reply to theirs. As long as your having fun and taking good advice form people that genuinely want to help you, you should be fine. Good luck

The OFFICIAL Press Release for HCW:
Hoosier Championship Wrestling was founded on the principle that the fan is always right. And what does the fan want? Nonstop, heart-pounding wrestling ACTION! Entrepreneur Joseph Hudson spent several years studying the competition, looking over charts and graphs and weighing his options before finally settling in Fort Wayne, Indiana, which he fondly refers to as “the Heart of the U.S.A.” Mr. Hudson has begun an intense quest, searching for the best, most athletic, charismatic and entertaining Stars to bring you top-quality Entertainment week after week. Mr. Hudson had the following statement to make:
“It is with an overwhelming amount of excitement that I officially announce the opening of HCW, and I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the level of talent we’re going to bring in. We’re not going to try to be the biggest, wealthiest or flashiest Promotion out there, but we will be the most exciting and consistently interesting! That is my promise to you, the fans. We are not hindered by DVD agreements, or by Network Executives wanting us to cut out blood. We’re streaming live to you on the WFigs network, where the only limitation we have is gaining the loyalty of you, the viewer. We will be bringing you a plethora of updates the coming weeks with news and even photos on the Arena being specially built for us in an abandoned building I purchased; to updates on those who I will be hiring to support me in running the company, and finally, and what you want to know most...who will be headlining this new Promotion! Y’all come back now, ya hear?”

I got a chance to sit down with HCW Founder, Joseph Hudson and we had an extensive interview, and while I haven't edited the entire thing yet, here is a portion of it for you.
Mr. Hudson, a lot of people are questioning why you’re getting into the Pro-Wrestling game all of a sudden?
- Well, I’ve been a lifelong fan of wrestling. I grew up watching the same Superstars as everyone else. One of my best memories is easily my father taking me to see Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior battle it out when I was just a kid. We were very poor when I was growing up, and my father put in a lot of overtime just to take me to see that show. Now, as Forbes has covered to the point of over-saturation, I’m certainly not poor anymore. So I guess I would say it has a special place in my heart. Now that I have the money to provide the talent, and the quality shows, it allows me to do something to remember my father, you know? Pro-wrestling has become lackluster in the past decade. I want to bring some heart back to it. I want fans to chant, and cheer, and scream, and cry. I want them to throw things and get every penny’s worth for their money.
You’re definitely well known for your philanthropic work. Any chance you could use your new Federation to help raise awareness for your many causes?
- I don’t know. I suppose it depends on the fan-base we build. We absolutely never want to get on a soap box with any one topic, but along with providing quality entertainment, it is our responsibility to educate and enlighten the fans to a number of causes that we fight for. I hope that we attract the kind of audience that not only wants to view action, but wants to take it as well.
Are there any differences between your company, HCW and other mainstream wrestling promotions?
- I wouldn’t say there are any glaring differences, no. But we don’t have a mind-blowing setup. You wont see pyrotechnics much, or an enormous LED HD stage, mostly because I’m slightly too old-school for that. We are a WRESTLING promotion. Not simply an entertainment promotion, like our competition.
So no rule changes or anything?
- Nothing that will throw people for a loop.
You’re also well known for your creative surprises. Do you have any planned for HCW as of yet?
- (grins mischievously) ...you’ll just have to tune in and find out wont you?
So if you don’t have an enormous setup, where is the money you’re spending going?
- Talent, honestly. We wanted the best and brightest stars, and to get some of them, you have to pay. It’s the way of the world, and to get some of the people we have coming in, it was well worth writing all those checks.
Any hints on who you have coming in?
- Now Byron, if I told you that now, we wouldn’t have anything to tell the fans later would we?

Posted 6/18/11: It is with HUGE honor that I get to announce the first acquisition by HCW. I told you it was gonna be gold! "The Gold Standard", Shelton Benjamin!
Shelton had this to say: "Come the first episode of HCW, when they start off with that HCW Title Tournament. I'm runnin' the board. Ain't no stoppin' or pausin'. There's a reason I was signed first. If you're not first, you're last."
Tomorrow we will have two, yes, TWO, acquisition announcements!

Posted 6/18/11: Our 2nd and 3rd acquisitions are Cody Rhodes and Carlito Colon!
Carlito was unable to be reached, but Rhodes had this to say: "I'm extremely excited to be a part of a company that is looking to bring back the heart of Professional Wrestling. Wrestling is in my blood, and there's nothing I love more. I can't wait to entertain the fans of HCW."
We also want to note that noted ring announcer, Lillian Garcia, has been hired as well. And Matt Striker will be doing backstage interviews. Mr. Hudson has also hired someone to handle the job of General Manager for the show so he can focus on commentary. However, he has not announced who this person will be. Stay tuned to find out!
(Sorry everyone trying to get news turned out as much as possible before I start principal photography on Monday for my movie. I will be indisposed for a while starting then and there wont be as many announcements coming out.)
