Just finished watching the Rockers vs. Power and Glory.... was shawn Michaels really injured during this match? If not, what was the story with the fact that he never got into the ring at all during the match?
thanks

Yeah, he needed knee surgery prior to the show so the attack by Power & Glory before the match was the way to write HBK off of the show for a few months while he re-grouped.

I'm not sure if Shawn was legitimately hurt but I don't think so. The WWF rarely let heels get over cleanly back then. When the heels won, it was usually because the babyfaces were in an against-all-odds storyline.

I didn't know that. I may have read it and just didn't remember. Shawn certainly has had a lot of knee injuries in his life. That makes 4 that come to mind.

Yeah, I remember him talking about this in his book. He shouldn't have even been in the arena that night, but they wrote an angle where he could just hobble to the ring (behind Jannetty so that it was hidden) and then take an early shot and then spend the rest of the match laying down.
