I was just watching some old videos on youtube and I never realized that Hulk Hogan (known as Sterling Golden then) was such a big name in Georgia (wcw), I thought he only had a very small stint there but after watching some of the other veterans talk about Golden I realized he had a good little thing going there. I was a big fan of all wrestling at this time and I knew alot about georgia/wcw but fogotten (or didn't realize he was such a on the rise star there)...........Just figured I would share this info for others who maybe under the same impression that he was only there for a few mild segments (stan hansen was big on hogan back then also)

Brilliant thread to share mate, really glad you did. I always thought Hogan was a decent name over there but I'd like to look back and see more.

Little known fact, Hulk Hogan was scheduled to Wrestle in the first Starrcade in 1983. He was pulled from the card and less then 2 months later he won the WWF Championship at Madison Square Garden!  |
