Overall it was a decent show, but I didn't like the fact that they had the Rumble winner in the opening contest of the night. Although Edge/Rio had a decent match. Cody/Red and Punk/Orton were good. Taker/HHH was definitely the match of the night. Cole/Lawler went on too long they really should have learned from Hart/McMahon from last year. The main event was probably one of the worst ever, it had to be up there with Orton/HHH from WM 25 and Sid/Hogan from WM 8. I really thought the whole night that they really were missing that "it" factor to put the show over the top. I have to admit that last year's WM was much better than last night. Very well said, although I didn't think the main event was awful. Had no steam at the beginning, but as they worked their way into the match the crowd started to get into it more. I just disliked the double count-out spot. Too predictable that The Rock was going to show up at that time. I would've preferred an unpredictable run-in by Rocky, maybe even appearing from under the ring apron and just standing in the Rock Bottom stance behind Cena for 5 or 10 seconds, just letting the crowd sink in the moment.

What was good about it? Nothing went beyond average. Average - taker/hhh. punk/orton, cody/rey. All the other matches were terrible. Lame segments between matches and crap video promos beforehand and to top it all off, the worst WM mania event in history - even more so than HHH vs Orton. People seem very easily impressed. What is it you pay in the US for the ppv, $65? We pay about $30/5 here in the UK and that was a rip. $55 in the U.S. I'm not saying it was perfect, I'm just saying it wasn't the worst. I liked it better than the last two.

Definately better than the last two, but not that great.
I cannot believed they bumped Sheamus/Bryan.....We better goddamned well get a 20 minute US title match tonight on Raw.

Cena: "If I beat A-rod in a cage match tonight then he can no longer hang out with The Miz"
Cena wins. A-rod still hangs out with Miz.
Cody Rhodes challenges Rey to a mask match at Wrestlemania, Cody wins...Rey keeps mask?

Just want to say, Triple H's entrance was awesome.
I was just hoping he'd use 'King of Kings.'

Cody Rhodes challenges Rey to a mask match at Wrestlemania, Cody wins...Rey keeps mask? Cody/Rey was never made a mask match. The stipulation was if Cena won, Riley could no longer be Miz's apprentice. Now he's not. He's Executive something or other. Also, a heel lying? No way!

The feud is based around their masks but it was never made a mask match. It's not bad writing, it's just part of the story. I could bring up Kurt Angle retiring if he didn't win the TNA world title a couple of months ago. He's still wrestling every week.

I know TNA has bad writing, so I'd be expecting something ridiculous..but I still enjoy it. This is Wrestlemania though. This is the biggest of all wrestling events. It's where WWE steps up and puts all their best into a 4 hour PPV. I was expecting Rey to lose his mask (as were other people) and The Miz/Riley thing is just..dumb Nothing seems to happen for any type of rhyme or reason lately in the WWE.

I don't see your point about Miz/Riley. It's no different from any other stipulation where somehow it doesn't happen. It happens all the time. As for Rey/Cody, you honestly expected Rey to lose his mask? Ha. You were setting yourself up for disappointment then. Similar to people expecting Sting being behind 2.21.11.

Not really, I've already seen Rey unmasked in WCW. It's not that important to me, but when there's a storyline where Cody says "I'm gonna take your mask off at Wrestlemania' or something along those lines..I expect Rey mask to be taken off at Wrestlemania.

'Mania wasn't bad this year, I enjoyed it.
It's a shame that the US Title match was made a dark match. Instead of having The Rock's a$$ out there jaw-jacking for almost 15 f*cking minutes, they could've kept Bryan and Sheamus on the card.
World Heavyweight Championship Match Alberto Del Rio {w/ Brodus Clay) vs. Edge(c) (w/ Christian): Not a bad one, a little odd to open 'Mania with the WHC match to me. A pretty good match. This one could've gone either way and I wouldn't have cared.
Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes: Really liked this match, great storytelling. I'm a big fan of Rhodes and I'm super glad he won.
The Big Show, Kane, Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov vs. The Corre (Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett, Ezekiel Jackson, WWE Tag Team Champions Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater: Meh and The Corre wound up looking pi$$-poor.
Randy Orton vs. CM Punk: Another good match. Punk is the bee's knees and this goes without saying, but he made this feud and the match.
Special Referee: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Michael Cole (w/ Jack Swagger): Best part of this was Stone Cold being there. Cole did have some funny moments in the match. I don't really mind the reversal of the decision because we're going to get some good stuff from Cole about his win in Jerry Lawler's first and only WrestleMania match.
The Undertaker vs. Triple H: This was good, it felt like Cool Hand Luke in parts. Even after all of the punishment Undertaker took, he still got the better of The Game. They went quite the different route by having Undertaker carted off after the match. Definitely looks like their winding him down and playing this off like there's not too many more WrestleMania matches left in him.
John Morrison, Trish Stratus & Snooki vs. LayCool (Layla and Michelle McCool) and Dolph Ziggler (w/ Vickie Guerrero): Meh. Good spot from Morrison. Trish Stratus was hot. That's about it.
WWE Championship Match The Miz(c) vs. John Cena: SO GLAD that The Miz retained the title. Before all The Rock bullsh*t, my money would've been on Cena winning. But thanks to The Rock's involvement in the feud, it wound up where either guy could win which was good. It's not usually common to have a WWE Championship match at 'Mania where you can't pick a winner, so that was nice for a change. The match wasn't bad and I'm glad it got started again. A WWE Championship match ending in a draw at WrestleMania would've left a bad taste in my mouth. The finish made it feel like The Miz STILL needs help winning matches, but since it was No DQ, Rock's interference was completely legal so it can't be looked at like The Miz needed help so HA!
Oh and it was awesome having JR call the last half of WrestleMania and hearing Boomer Sooner in the Georgia Dome when he made his entrance.
Overall, I thought WrestleMania XXVII was good and I liked it.

And I still don't get your point about Miz/Riley. It was just a small storyline that helped lead up to Cena/Miz at Mania.

I don't know how you don't get the point, I mean..it's not a big deal or anything, it just something that, to me...seemed like a pointless stipulation to add on Raw, when nothing became of it. And..that's not the point. I understand Cody would be angry that his mask got ripped off. However, that'd probably make him more angry and want to embarrass Rey on a more personal level than just a loss. Something that'd change the way we fans would see Rey as a character.

Like Jericho saying if he lost he'd leave. He lost and continued to wrestle. But Cody is conceited. He just wanted to make sure his face was ok, he didn't care about anything after the match besides making sure his face was ok.

No, it'd be humiliating if he had taken his mask off and everyone saw Rey's face. Taking Rey's mask off has happened time and time again in WWE, but the fans haven't really got to see his face, which would make the storyline go a little deeper and become a bit more interesting. True, well..I hope something does come of it tonight or on Smackdown. Raw should be interesting.

No it doesn't. I thought Rey did pretty well for himself in WCW after he was unmasked. Sure, he didn't have that mystique that he once had, but he was still cool to watch. Although, seeing Psychosis unmasked in WWE...ugh
