When did Chyna compete in a match for the first time? I know she competed in the 1999 Royal Rumble, and seemed to more often from that point. But before then, did she compete in the ring?

Well she won the Corporate Rumble a week or two before the Royal Rumble but yeah, I think that was her first official WWF match.

I could have sworn that she was in a tag match the first couple of weeks since the new dx started after wm 14. I could be wrong though.

No, if I remember correctly, Austin won the 8-man tag at IYH: No Way Out of Texas, and afterwards Chyna went up to him, poking him in the chest then flipping him the bird and pushing him away.
He looked to walk out of the ring, but when her back was turned, Austin returned and delivered the Stunner to her.
I could be way wrong, but I remember that happening in '98.
