Greetings ladies and gents...
OK my favorite game of all time is still getting talked about now (Wrestlefest) and it got me thinking...
What if the year later (or 18 months - whatever) they made a sequel!?
What characters would you want in it and what game modes would there be?
My choices:
The original had 12 characters, 10 playable (6 faces and 6 heels) so using this formula (and advances in technology) I would have 16 characters (14 playable with 8 faces and 8 heels).
I'd go with a 4-on-4 Survivor Series game mode, the Royal Rumble mode and a one-player Championship mode which would have one-on-one and triple threat matches (although before their WWF time).
My choice of characters considering time frame:
The Undertaker (heel) Bret Hitman Hart (face) Shawn Michaels (heel) Jake the Snake (heel) Earthquake (face) Typhoon (face) Ric Flair (heel) Macho Man (face) Sid Justice (heel) Hulk Hogan (face) Rowdy Roddy Piper (face) The Mountie (heel) Big Boss Man (face) Tatanka (face)
Non playable Tag Team;
Money Inc (IRS and Million Dollar Man)
Any thoughts!?

I'm guessing you're going for around Wrestlemania 8 timeline? Either way, Tatanka and Jake Roberts were never relevant stars in the company at the same time. Tatanka was just debuting as Jake was on his way out. So trade Jake for Papa Shango.
Scrap the triple threat match. You're talking WAY out of the WWF timeline there, and in fact out of wrestling's timeline as a whole. The "first" triple threat match wasn't until over a year later.

To me, even though it wasnt on an arcade game, the sequel to Wrestlefest was Wrestlemania game for Super Nintendo. It just had the same rub to me with Natural Disasters, Hogan, Warrior etc. I would probably loosely base it off that. I like your lineup but would probably drop Tatanka for someone like Texas Tornado or Rick Martel

Papa Shango would have made for an interesting character... After posting I thought maybe Sid Justice too!?

And agree re: triple threat - was clutching at straws then... King of the Ring tournament maybe!?

That was one of the first games I got for SN. All the wrestlers had the same move set, no finishers, pretty boring. The best part of the game was the character menu where you could listen to each wrestler's theme music. WrestleFest was awesome though!
