Im dead serious here. People say the music/design/color scheme doesn't make much of a difference when can you say the last time was when WWE's selection of music got you pumped up for the event. Like this:
Look at the way the music perfectly reflects the promo and all in the whole event. The way the song builds up helped build up the night itsself.
Whereas look at the choice of music here (recent smackdown theme)
HEY-EEEEEEEEYY!! Do you rock like me? NO?! YOURE GOOOO IIIIIN DOOOOWN!! Raws theme gets a lot of criticism but I like it. Its a good catchy theme and gets you going before the event.
And to show its not just berating music I dont like.
Ignore the guy talking and skip to 2:10 The music flows well with the pyro but Its honestly like they didnt take the meaning of the music into consideration. Pendulum is one of my favourite bands and Propane nightmares is one of my favourite songs so I know the meaning (Heavens Gate suicides) whereas look at the meaning of My Way. Its like Austin telling Rock he's tired of his **** and standing upto him to take the strap. Another example is Backlash 2008. Sweet Home Alabama? Great song no doubt. But is it really fitting?
It may just be me who the music excited just as much as the show.

always thought wwe smack downs beautiful people opening was great along with the openeng featured on smackdown here comes the pain, so was the old warzone
hell i thought that raws theme"move to the music" (before papa roachs) was cool. everything since then has sucked for both raw and smackdown

I think it is a little bit of both. However, I would say that music has definitely gotten worse over the years, so I can see where it would be hard to pick a theme. But I mean hey, RAW could've just stuck with Move To The Music even until now and I'm sure they would be just fine.

The second best Raw theme in my opinion (next to All Together) But its actually called Across The Nation

I think the music has gotten much worse. It's nowhere near as good as it was in the 80's and 90's. Everyone back then had their own respective, distinguishable theme. Whenever a superstars theme hit back then, you knew who was comin' out. Music now, is much more generic.
I miss hearing classic themes like Tatanka, Million Dollar Man, Slick, Demolition, Honky Tonk Man, Doink, Hillbilly Jim, Mr. Perfect and Razor Ramon to name a few.

Back in the 80s, when the music hit and you saw peoples reactions, it really got me pumped for the next match! Since im not into newer generic rock music, the themes nowadays are boring to me.
The Fabulous Rogeau Brothers theme - best ever!

IMO if your gunna use a music name/band for a song atleast get them to do YOUR song like with the aggression album

The problem with the music and by this I mean overall for the superstars the promos and the shows is that there is just no personality to it. Back in the day they would write an entrance song to fit a character now its just some random song by some random band (not all are to be fair)

Yea, the newer stuff they have been using is piss poor, back in the early 00's it was great, from WMX7 till about 2004, it was great, but now, its just awful, however this years Survivor Series has quite a good theme, but not only PPV themes, its the entrrance themes too, they are all the same, what happened to Jim Johnstone actually making good lyric-less theme's, he seems lazy nowadays

do u balme him. jim johnston has nothing to work with nowadays.most new talent have no personality or charatcer they are just vauge extentions of themselves.the closest thing to character based themes are ones based on ethnicity like shaemus and alberto del rio.everything else is alt/pop/rock generic theme #7.although idk wth dibease is trying to prove with his theme.its been the pitts for me ever since they changed ortons theme.voices sux i mute the tv when it comes on.i miss ecw themes where it was real music, good music.sure it didnt always make sense(rey sad but true, and everyone using ac/dc)but most of the time they were reflective of the wrestler in some way.even wcw was better .if they didnt buy the right they made a variant version.i dont want to be stuck with your only smoke and mirrors forever.ugh

The few times ECW actually licenced music it was generic metal. Before they licensed music it was piss poor generic jamming music. You talk about varients but Look at DX's first theme and Jack Swaggers theme. Remakes of various Rage Against The Machine songs

One of my favorite themes in the past few years:
I feel that it was a perfect song for WM23.
But yeah I agree, music has gone down hill for WWE as of late. If You Rock Like Me was terrible.

the music is bland and uninteresting just like the wrestlers they are pushing.
long gone are the days when Demolitions music put the crowd in a frenzy at WM6 or when Austins lifted the roof off MSG in Jan 99

I think music in general has gotten to be really bad. I miss stuff like this....
The last great promo package I've seen from WWE is this...
