-- Was watching Rise & Fall of WCW the other night, and on the part where they talk about Hogan signing with WCW back in '94 got me thinking.....
.... What if Vince had ownership rights to the 'Hulk Hogan' name and personna ??
Just got me curious as to what the landscape of wrestling would've become had Terry Bolga(sp?) joined WCW, but wasn't able to use the whole "Hulkamania" thing.
Your thoughts?

The Hulk Hogan/Hulkamania/Hulkster name is what sells everything. If he left and couldnt take the name with him WCW would have never signed him. Sorry but Hollywood Sterling Golden just doesnt sound that great. You cant even put anything with Terry Bollea to make it sound good.

Imagine if he had to resort back to his "Terry Boulder" name, or one of his other rediculously amateur ring names. If he wasn't Hulk Hogan, I don't think he would be anything right now. XWF ;D

I remember rumors of Hogan considering the name Hurricane Hogan as a way to promote two ventures at once as he had just come off the dreadful series Thunder in Paradise. With or without the name "Hulk", I think WCW would have gone under in '97 or '98 had they not aquired Nash and Hall. WCW's ratings through Hulk's first two years were almost identical to before his arrival only with a much larger payroll. It wasn't until WCW got their hands on two former WWF main eventers in their prime that they finally got their money angle.

Had Hulk turned heel by himself, it would have been different for sure but it wouldn't have had nearly the impact of the NWO. Hall and Nash were two of the WWF's focal points at the time and to suddenly see them on Nitro was shocking.

it sure was.......I still remember the Nitro that Hall turned up. That was so well booked. There was no fanfare, no "guess who we signed!", no entrance music. The way he just jumped into the ring and started trash-talking looked unscripted. That was a landmark moment to be sure.

i imagine hulk would've never signed with wcw then, as the money would overall still be with wwf.
