Randy Orton was announced as the WWE Champion and came out to a huge pop. Sheamus came out when Orton got to the ring. Sheamus quickly cut his music and complained about the title being taken from him last night in the six pack challenge. Sheamus calls the title his property and said Orton has never beat him one-on-one before.
Randy talked about how Sheamus won his title in the Fatal Four Way when Nexus interfered. Orton said Sheamus is still entitled to his rematch, but Sheamus will get a punt to the skull if he doesn't get out of the ring.
The anonymous general manager ringed in. Cole read an email saying everything will be settled at Hell in a Cell in two weeks with a no disqualification match. Sheamus said that if orton is honorable he will give him his gold back. Orton said he would RKO his own grandmother to keep the title. Orton said since he's the champion, he's the only one who will carry it. But if Sheamus wants it that bad he can just take it and offer it to Sheamus. Sheamus takes it and immediately got RKO'd to a huge pop.
The singles match between John Cena and Wade Barrett was advertised on the jumbotron for tonight.
1. Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes defeated Vladimir Kozlov and Santino Marella in a non-title match. The Hart Dynasty received a small pop when they came out to sit in on commentary for the match. The new tag champs received very little reaction. McIntyre pinned Kozlov for the win.
A video of John Morrison working out backstage and doing pushups played. Morrsion then jumped up, put his shades on, and I'm assuming will be in action next.
2. John Morrison defeated Chris Jericho. Jericho took the early advantage. Morrison eventually fought back only to have Jericho position him in the ropes and choke him while standing on his back. Jericho kept scoring nearfalls. Dueling Morrison and Y2J chants by the crowd. Great back an forth action. Jericho went for the Walls of Jericho. Morrison grabbed the bottom rope. Both Morrison and Jericho reversed pin attempts and got nearfalls. Morrison hit starship pain and won to a huge crowd reaction. Great match!!!!
Josh Matthews was shown on the jumbotron interviewing John Cena, who said he's disappointed about not winning the championship, but was happy to watch Orton RKO Barrett. He said Nexus might remember him saying he will take them all out one by one and if you take out the leader, then the Nexus zombies won't know what to do.
Miz came out suit carrying his Money in the Bank briefcase. He said he didn't tap out last night and Daniel Bryan didn't beat him. Miz said he woke up on Sunday morning and had a tender ligament and the doctored begged him not to compete but he competed because he's a true champion. Miz said his injury worsened during the match and he had to save himself from surgery. He said he can and he will regain his championship only to hear the crowd start "you tapped out" chants.
Miz stayed ringside for match commentary. Edge came out next to face Daniel Bryan who came out as the new United States Champion with new entrance music (classical music).
3. Daniel Bryan defeated Edge by DQ via reversed decision. Edge took control early and scored a nearfall. Danielson fought back with some athletic moves and went to the top rope. Edge kicked Bryan in the face as he jumped down Bryan locked in the LeBell Lock, but the ref distracted by Alex Riley. Bryan stood up to look at Alex only to turn around and have Edge spear him for the win.
Cole reads general manager email "Due to outside interference by the Miz, I'm reversing the referees decision, the winner of the match as a result of disqualification is the United States champion Daniel Bryan.
Edge said he's sick of the general manager, the emails, the computer, and Cole. He said this isn't a joke, it's his career. After Edge left, Alex Riley continued to beat down Daniel Bryan, and Miz came in shortly thereafter to join him. The crowd started the "you tapped out" chants again. Miz eventually hit his finisher on Bryan and left.
Another jumbotron for Cena vs. Barrett was shown, followed by a commercial for "Legendary" which will be on DVD next week only in Walmart.
The official song for Hell in a Cell with be "Sacrifice" by Atom Smash.
4. Layla defeated Melina. Layla came out with Michelle McCool, who went ringside for commentary. Layla was announced as the self-proclaimed co-holder of the Divas title. Melina came out next. Melina was in control early and often. Layla reversed a suplex that Melina went for when Layla was on the top turnbuckle. Layla won.
Crowd started woooo chants during the commercial break.
Nexus was shown backstage huddled with Barrett giving a speech.
Jericho has an announcement. He advertised his DVD saying it shows that he's the best in the world at what he does and his DVD should be in the Smithsonian. He said he is close to finding out who the general manager is and when he does he will blackmail him, extort him, and demand a title match against the winner of Orton vs. Sheamus. Orton was behind Jericho and offered Jericho a one on one match next week. Jericho accepted.
5. R-Truth and Eve defeated Ted DiBiase and Maryse in a mixed tag match. R-Truth and Eve came out doing their Knuckle Up dance routine on their way to the ring. R-Truth took the early advantage against DiBiase, who tagged Maryse. She quickly got speared by Eve, who went for a pinfall, but DiBiase pulled her off Maryse. With DiBiase and Truth fighting at ringside, eve scores the pin.
Barrett and Cena were shown walking to the ring. A video about Smackdown's move to Syfy aired... The Indianapolis Colts were shown ringside, and Jericho vs. Orton was advertised for next week.
6. John Cena defeated David Otunga. The match was scheduled to be Cena vs Barrett in a singles match. Cena and Barrett received huge crowd reactions. Barrett came out with the rest of Nexus. He walked into the ring and offered Cena the change to take on Nexus in a gauntlet match. He said that if Cena beats the other four, he would get a shot at Barrett. Cena accepted and spared no time going after Heath Slater. Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment on Slater.
David Otunga came to the ring next with some early offense. Otunga was in control of the match, but Cena rolled Otunga up and score the pinfall.
Michael Tarver was up next. Cena put Tarver in the STF submission for the pinfall. Justin Gabriel came in with some athletic kicks to score a nearfall. Cena foght back to a nearfall with the three fallen members watching together from ringside. Gabriel hit a belly to back suplex on Cena from the top turnbuckle to another nearfall. Cena landed a suplex to another nearfall.
Cena performed the shoulder blocks, body slam, you can't see me, and the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but the ringside Nexus members interfered. Barret came in with a chair, but Cena fought him off and took the chair. Nexus escaped up the ramp.
Cena got the mic and said he fought off Barrett's cronies and wants to fight Barrett right now. Barrett said he has nothing to gain in fighting Cena and needs something to sweeten the deal. Barrett said Cena will put it all on the line for the title, so he needs to put himself on the line. Barrett accepted a match in two weeks time at Hell in a Cell under the condition that if Cena loses, he must join Nexus.
Cena added the stipulation that if he wins, Nexus is done. He said Tarver would go back to Macy's to sell women's fragrances, Gabriel to the Twinkie factory, Otunga to mooching off his wife, and Slater would go back to working at Wendy's as the poster girl. Finally, he said Barrett goes down as the winner of NXT season one, who flushed his golden opportunity down the drain. Barrett accepted the match.
