One thing i like about most other co's but for Jakks is that they stick to a more or less 1/12 scale on the whole. Why do Jakks keep making their figs bigger? They're totally out of whck with what they were making a few years ago (and almost none of them are original sculpts-just muscle bound super hero types). Thats why i like chara pro figs (ok so they're 5 inches or so) so much. Whether it be Noah, NJPW or Pride, they all have the same style and scale. And original sculpts for every fig too.

I notice I kinda prfer the smaller size figures(toybiz) for some reason...I dont know why...maybe because they are more action figure like, but yeah, the size of Jakks figures has increased considerably ove over the past 10 years. While there's certainly nothing wrong with the current size of the figures by Jakks, I can see why people often refer to them as "dolls"

6" is all you need? sorry 8" is all I got... ...oh wait... Yeah I agree, why must figures get bigger every year or so? All our figures should "live in the same world". This has been going on for ages tho. Action figures started at 3.75" and then (most) went to 5". They have then slowly increased. Most action figures now are 6-7" but many companies are making 8" and 9" figures. I for one am fed up with it. I feel that the current size of Jakks RAs (6.5"- 7") is perfect as it allows for a solid, well made, articulated and fairly detailed figure. Figures need to STOP getting bigger. Whilst I applaud Toybiz for always keeping to the 6"(ish) scale, and Toybiz ARE my favorite toy company, I was very disappointed that they chose to make the TNA figures in the 6" scale, SIMPLY because Jakks figures are the MAJORITY of people's wrestling figure collections. And the Jakks scale is 6.5" - 7" so the Toybiz figures are a little small. I love the TNA figures, but I don't really understand why Toybiz went with the smaller-than-Jakks scale, as if they made them the same scale as Jakks, more WWE fans would buy the figures (in addition to the TNA fans who would buy them whatever the size) To build a collection, the MOST IMPORTANT THING is the scale. Without that, they don't fit together. That's why I was SO annoyed at DAs being way bigger than RAs. The majority of my collection is RA, I have around 400 of them, and I refuse to support DA unless they fix the scale.

On the latest DA series (can't remember which) hadn't they scaled down the smaller guys to fit in with RA? Matt Hardy? And the Big Show isn't huge, it's the same size as an RA Big Show. That annoyed me, I wanted a GIANT Big Show.

No, false alarm, somebody said they were smaller, but he was comparing them to the tallest RAs, you have to use the average sized ones for a fair comparison. Another thing that annoys me is when people complain that if they re-scaled DA (back when they were supposedly thinking of doing it in DA3) that they would make DA1 and 2 obsolete. Big ing deal it's 12 figures! most people have 100s of RAs! you gotta go with the majority.

I actually hate the scale of RA/DA. The majority of popular action figure lines are 6'', but JAKKS figures are 7'' tall, it's madness. WWE figures don't fit in with any other figure line, but ToyBiz TNA can fit with Marvel Legends, DC Super Heroes, SOTA Street Fighter, Charmed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, ToyBiz WCW, hell, even Power Rangers. 7'' is a terrible scale for figures aimed at children.

Toy Biz already has a built in following due to the LOTR and Marvel Legends (and spin-off lines). It makes sense for them to keep the 6" scale than to adopt the Jakks "sizing". Either way, they need to attract TNA fans to pick up the line. If we consider these fans as "new to the hobby", then the scale doesn't matter. Yes going with the Jakks sizing does make the line appeal to the Jakks collectors, but are the Jakks fans that want TB to adopt the RA sizing going to actually pick up this line or will they remain loyal to Jakks. If Jakks fans aren't willing to look at the line and TNA fans don't bite, ToyBiz is :-Xed on this. If they go with the 6" scale and Jakks fans and TNA fans don't pick any TNA figs up, they still have people who collect other TB lines that will still pick them up (for random background characters for play or dios or for customizing parts), they at least have a built in following to fall back on. I used to have more loyalty to the TNA line since I was already a Marvel Legends collector and was getting sick of Jakks dropping the ball as much as they have. I bought my first DA on Friday (Cena because my girlfriend is a huge Cena mark) and was impressed enough that I grabbed Undertaker and Rey Mysterio today before catching my ride home. The DA line is definitely a step in the right direction for Jakks and is a line I will happily continue to buy (won't be a completist due to the price though).

I was thinking about it the other day, and how I had so much more fun with the BCA figures and not just because I was younger, but I pulled a couple figures out the other day and a hardcore ring and had so much fun. I love RA figures, but if they were maybe an inch smaller, but still as thick, they would probably be amazing.

BCAs, honestly were probably the best wrestling figures ever from a players point of view. Good scale, not too many reused part, good articulation. Articulation as in arms and legs actually move all the way through their one axis. Pildrivers were possible back then!

I must say, i dont really but Jakks unless there's a figure of a wrestler i really like a lot (unless it's going super cheap) and unless it knocks my socks off, i wont buy a fig of a guy i already have a different fig of. But yeah, ultimately, there's nothing stopping Jakks making them 6" and justa s detailed. I think its a ploy to get kids to buy the latest versions so they all fit together.
