Well lets go to what if world The time is Nov 1986. Magnum T.A. has never had his car accident and has just beaten Ric Flair for the World title. The NWA is at a all time high in both ratings and money making. How do you book the World Title run of Magnum, Do you take the title off of him in a years time or do you give him a Hogan run considering he was getting to Hogan level popularity wise before his accident. Do you take a risk of trying to run WWF Arena even go so far as to make a bid for Madison Square Garden in hoping Magnum's popularity is what you need to try to take away business from the WWF in the North East. Do you book a run of Magnum vs Dusty and tease a possible Turn for Magnum to join the Horseman. You Decide. I like to see your ideas.

I'd book Magnum vs Flair for the title, 60 minute time limit, Dusty Rhodes is special guest ref and about half way through, they give each other a look and shake hands. Dusty flips out and Magnum and Flair attack Dusty. LOD rush out for the save. Horsemen come out and attack LOD. Nikita and Barry Windham run out to help Dusty and LOD.
Then we have a War Games match.
Magnum, Flair, Ole, Arn and Tully vs Hawk, Animal, Dusty, Nikita and Windham.
At the end of the match Magnum turns on the Horsemen, revealing that Dusty was in on the beat down at Starrcade and just took it to make it seem like Magnum was with Flair.
The reason they did it was so that Flair used up his title match at Starrcade and now someone new has to fight for the title.
If not someone new then have him face Dusty as a friendly gesture from Magnum to Dusty for having to put up with "heel" Magnum and then Dusty wins the title back.

I highly doubt that Dusty would have thrown Magnum heel, not saying it wouldnt have had happend, but doubtful in my eyes, especially since Magnum took the title from Flair and to team him with the Horsemen would be bad business.
Now Magnum would have gotton the NWA title, no question about that, its been said way to many times, and it wouldnt have made sense for it not to happen with the crowd reaction he was getting, I also think Flairs # of times being champion would have been cut in half, there would have been no title run for Garvin, prolly not another for Dusty either, its my beleive that Magnum would have took off like a lighting bolt, I do beleive they would put he and Nikita in several different matches, Some on would have had turned on him eventually, to add more matches and flair and he would have exchanged the title back and forth a few times.
Another theory i had about this, Tully and Magnum fueded all ovr, Tully would have got a chance, maybe even took the title? That would have left for a Tully/ Flair fued in the future that would have been awesome.

Wow. Great topic. Bear with me. I'll probably change this 7 or 8 times. Magnum & Flair have some epic 60 minute matches with both men getting near pinfalls. After the Horseman interfere one too many times, Jim Crockett suspends them from Starrcade. At Starrcade, Magnum finally defeats Flair in a 90 minute steel cage match, in which Flair hurts his leg and knee. Magnum gets a new version of the belt, looking similar to this one- For a few weeks at TV tapings & house shows, Magnum successfully defends his belt against the likes of Ivan Koloff, Stan Lane, Bobby Eaton, The Warlord, etc. With the suspension over, the Horseman make promises to Magnum that Flair will be back better than ever. They start attacking him after matches. Magnum challenges each member of the Horsemen and states that if they lose, they will have to leave the NWA for 90 days. They accept the offer. Magnum defeats Ole in a Bunkhouse Match at the Bunkhose Stampede. Magnum defeats Arn at The Great American Bash in a dog collar match. He faces Tully at Starrcade. Near the end of the match, both men are down after an in-ring collision (with a ref bump). Ric Flair comes through the crowd and hits Magnum with his cane, injuring him. Tully capitalizes on this and wins the title. At the next TV taping, all the Horseman come out & congratulate Tully. Jim Crockett comes out & says he has some news. Magnum TA is injured and can't wrestle for a re-match. But since Ric Flair never got his re-match with Magnum, he will face Tully at the Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Cup. Upon hearing this, Flair says that a match between he & Tully won't be necessary. He tells Tully to just hand over the belt to him. Tully hesitates, which infuriates Ric & Ole. Arn is undecided and says "This is personal & private. I won't discuss this in front of millions of people" & walks off. Ole & Ric start loudly arguing with Tully. Tully states that its his turn to shine and he'd appreciate it to let him have his moment in the spotlight. Ole & Ric end up beating up Tully. For the next few weeks, Arn seems to be mulling things over and just doesn't seem to agree with Ole & Ric. He stays a true Horseman, though, and says he & Ole will win the Crockett Cup. At the Crockett Cup, Ole & Arn make it to the second round, only to lose to The Road Warriors (who eventually win the tournament). Arn gets pinned by Hawk. Ole is furious & gives Arn a beat down. In the main event, Ric Flair & Tully Blanchard face each other in a 90 minute steel cage match. As a shocker to everyone, Jim Crockett Jr. says that Magnum TA will be the special guest referee. Another brain fart. Give me a while.
