EIW (Edge's Independent Wrestling) all started to unfold in 2008, when WWE employee Edge suffered from a terrible injury. Edge was bed ridden for 1 year after tearing his ACL. Many thought Edge could make a comeback, but, after working a couple of matches, he was fired. Frustrated with himself, but desperate to wrestle once again, Edge started a Independent Wrestling Organization that would broadcast on the local TV channels in Toronto. It was a very small promotion, all filmed in a local High School Gym. One Day though, WWE met with a fatal demise, as WWE Chairman Vince McMahon suffered a heart attack after he wrestled what was scheduled to be his last match ever. Shane and Stephanie neither wanted to keep the company, Triple H also passed on the company. Edge saw this as an opportunity to make his franchise grow, so he bought out most of the WWE superstars contracts. Edge also got the Rock to sign on as a GM. What happened next you may ask? Find out on Episode 1 of EIW!
